Majestic Hotel

Exceptionally disinterested front desk. No advice when asked about breakfast - there “is coffee”. I switched from the JWMarrtot because this was supposed to be an experience near ballpark. Zero experience. Nice wall art but zero else. Rooms are lacking.

I booked this hotel mainly because of its location, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. After taking the Blue Line from Chicago O’Hare Airport, the hotel was easy to find with just a one-block walk from the station. There were also several train and bus lines nearby, making it very convenient to get around the city. The neighborhood felt quite safe even at night, which made walking around comfortable and enjoyable. Looking out the window and seeing the reflection of the historic building across the street in the glass truly made me feel like I was experiencing the charm of traveling in Chicago. Breakfast was always clean, well-organized, and offered a wide variety of options, so everyone could find something they liked. I think I’ll sometimes miss starting my mornings there with the mini scones and a cup of coffee. Above all, the staff made this stay especially memorable. Every employee I met greeted me warmly with a smile, and I was genuinely touched when they carefully helped me find a small pen I had accidentally left behind after checking out. If I ever visit Chicago again, I would absolutely stay here again.

Nice hotel located immediately adjacent to the CIBC Theatre, and very conveniently to CTA bus and "L" rail stations for easy access to O'Hare, the Field Museum (including Sheds Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium), and just about anywhere you would want to go. Also reasonable walking distance to the River Walk and Union Station. It's an old building with many floors but a limited number of rooms on each floor (my floor had 9 rooms). You enter at the ground level and take the (old) elevators up to the lobby. Access to the floors with rooms requires a key card. There is a small gym on the 5th floor. Standard Hampton Inn continental breakfast in the mornings. Aside from having to wait on the elevators (as I mentioned, there are lots of floors and only a few rooms on each floor, so there is always a wait for an elevator), I also noted that there were very few children here, which is probably because it is rather pricey and not necessarily kid-friendly. Although the staff was outstanding, I didn't really feel that the atmosphere justified the cost of the rooms; however, I was booking with only a few weeks notice and beggars can't be choosers.

The room allowed us to rest comfortably after a long trip to Chicago. The beds are comfortable, and it has everything we need for a pleasant stay. The receptionist was very friendly and provided excellent service. The included breakfast was a great addition, allowing us to give our two-year-old a wonderful experience. It's very centrally located; you can catch the bus on the corner and easily reach the main attractions. Highly recommended.

Come live your big city rom com fantasy, going up and down brass elevators, being enchanted by the beaux-arts architecture with it's swirls and bronze lion heads, and with friendly staff and a man watching the door and greeting you. On the walls, you can see antique brass mail slots and postcards from theatre goers from 100 years ago, and posters from musicals. All the amenities you expect are there. You will feel like you are in a luxury hotel, but paying the affordable price of a Hampton Inn.

I called pretty late, but the guy who answered the phone said,"$599! That's the going rate right now."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from May 8 through May 10. The room was cozy, and the view from the seventeenth floor was a good one. The room was tidy, and adequately stocked with linens. Breakfast was a little picked over on the first pass the first morning, but was abundantly restocked for a second trip through, and we were well-satiated for our busiest day. Front desk staff (shout out to friendly, funny Robyn) were courteous and helpful, and I appreciated the early check-in, even for $20 extra -- it was nice to rest briefly before venturing out for the first evening. The hotel is in comfortable walking proximity to Union Station and the Chicago Symphony, as well as a lot of architectural interest around the Loop, starting right within the Majestic Building, continuing next door at the Inland Steel Building, and right on down to Marina City. The only suggestions I have for improvement would be to attempt to repair or to arrange better ventilation within the bathroom, not only due to bathroom odors, but because a long, hot shower fogs the windows across the suite; and I know most people utilize their cell phones for alarms, but I think there should be a small clock in the room at bedside or on the desk (still nice to have a decorative clock to glance at for the time without having to consult a phone, even in 2026). I would not hesitate to recommend the Hampton Inn - Majestic to a friend, and hoping to stay again as soon as I have another opportunity to sweep through the Windy City.
