We had a wonderful 3 day stay at THE PINES MOTOR LODGE. Great location between Douglas and Saugatuck.

A perfect location for exploring Douglas and Saugatuck . 1.5 miles to beach (past a good coffee shop) 2 miles from there on back roads to Red Dock (great people and drinks) 1.5 miles from there to downtown Saugatuck. Check out the cute town of Douglas. Great shops restaurant and water views. People are wonderful in this area. Was a shame that other guests don't obey the rules. No smoking/vaping near rooms. Otherwise, awesome place. Rooms are clean, quiet, and the Adirondack chair outside the room was a great place to enjoy a brief rain shower that cooled off the summer air.... Really - Stay here!

Several guests stayed here for our wedding in Pullman MI. They used the common patio area to picnic and were comfortable and happy. What more can you ask for!

(Almost) perfect place to stay in Douglas (Saugatuck), MI. The rooms were clean and the location was perfect. The towells were super soft. Loved the courtyard in the middle of the lot with all the white adirondack chairs. A few things that could have been better such as the Internet, hot water, and lack of USB (see below for more details).

If you have mobility issues, this is not your place. The bed is hard and very high. No shower grab bars and very small. The toliet sits very low. There is only blinds on the windows so the light from outside shines in all night. There is construction going on at 7 am right behind the motel. Both the fridge and heater are noisy. Only place to sit in room is a hard metal chair and small table. The good side is its super cute. Clean. And nicely decorated. The gift shop was jumbled and disorganized. The parking lot is very tight. It's not far from Holland and all the circus there. If we could have gotten some sleep I would have gave it four stars.

This place has so much charm. Close to everything! Clean, friendly, and grounds are adorable. You can tell the owners take pride.
