Hampton Inn Wausau

Lily was nice I called ahead of time to check if room available after working a shift and walking into an ice storm and I live in a different city and I was really tired after work . She told me a room was available. I arrived and she told me she is waiting for the room to be cleaned and should be ready in a hour and she offered to call me . Lily called me when room was ready which didn’t take long and I was thankful for that The Room was nice and clean the hygiene products are mounted in convenient locations in the room * Plenty towels * Bed soft * Nice tv with my name * Only recommendation is better plan for housekeeping because I was checked in maybe 30 minutes went in my room layed down and then someone knocked on door and opened right away and said “ housekeeping “ before I could even respond it scared me that someone could just walk in she then apologized & said that she had the room listed as a check out . Also in the morning they knocked and I was only booked for one night it would’ve been more convenient for housekeeping to round on my room after check out versus disturbing me it scared me again because I was in the shower the morning they knocked .

Location is great, just a 5-minute drive to Granite Peak and a 5-minute drive to downtown Wausau. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. There was a sporting event going on this weekend, so most of the rooms had kids but we didn’t hear much noise and were still able to use the pool + hot tub. The pool area was also very clean. Nice hotel, would stay here again!

Average hotel, only complaint is that their wifi is brutally slow. 1.2MB/s.

The hotel feels a bit dated, and the location isn’t particularly convenient. However, the pool and hot tub were nice amenities and definitely a plus during the stay. Breakfast was fairly limited in variety. It would have been better if they had offered options like milk, yogurt, or eggs to provide a more balanced selection. Overall, it was an okay stay, especially for the amenities, but there is room for improvement.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. Everyone is incredibly helpful and nice. Cannot recommend enough!

My partner and I stayed here 4 nights to get away from Chicago for a bit and had a wonderful time! Definitely one of the nicest 3-star hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Hotel staff was genuinely friendly, and everything was clean. The gym was quite nice, too. We stayed in the premium king and had gorgeous, peaceful views of the snow-blanketed area and were just 5 minutes from Granite Peak Ski Area. Wausau also has amazing food options, including the hotel restaurant Van Acre. We plan to visit again and really look forward to it!

Nah, this hotel is NOT it. Loud water, thin walls, somehow not very wheelchair accessible, but only have wheelchair accessible rooms available. And the location is next to a highway, and a maze to get to. Go stay at Holiday inn in Weston. Overall the hotel was a hotel. Cramped breakfast area
