The Big Coconut Guesthouse

Family is the perfect word to describe the big coconut! Lloyd, Jim, Hazel, and of course, David, the owner, have treated my husband and me like family. We’ve stayed there several times over the past eight months, and many of those visits were last-minute. I’d call Hazel just in time to see if they had a room available in two days. Just like family, Hazel would playfully tease me about last-minute plans and tricks, always in a good way. He always managed to find some kind of accommodation, which we always appreciated. It’s easy to stay somewhere else, but when you can stay with family in such a comfortable environment, it makes everything so much nicer. The big coconut also took care of some other little things we needed. Please don’t hesitate to ask about anything. They’re amazing at figuring out what you need and providing all the information you could want. Plus, a cocktail party on Friday and Saturday night was always a treat, even though we didn’t get to join in. I always enjoyed my morning swim and the nice, comfortable pool, plus a relaxing midday. Social hour in the pool was also very nice.

I have stayed at the big Coconut many times, especially when I’m down for clergy meetings. The place is unbelievable the whole staff are all awesome folks who will care to your every need. The clients that go there are beyond friendly with everyone it gives you a feeling of a family establishment. I highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed my hotel stay at the big coconut! It is a small men’s only clothing, optional hotel That has five star service. The property is well maintained and has a tropical feel to it. Plenty of free parking. Close to many shops and attractions and 2 miles from Wilton manors nightlife. The rooms are large and spacious and very comfortable. Great air conditioning, excellent water pressure in the shower, comfortable bed, very nice linens and towels and With plenty of extra amenities. The staff and owners offer snacks and chilled bottles of water throughout the day, As well as a free continental breakfast, And even a happy hour on Fridays and Saturdays, where they serve you poolside. Everything was top-notch and the big coconut is definitely the best resort of its kind in the area. It was very easy to make new friends with other guests, and I look forward to returning. I highly recommend this property if you are searching for an excellent men’s resort in Wilton manors.

No hot water

We had a great time. During our stay the staff was wonderful and talkative. I will say we were there during a time when a large group of older men were there. That made it feel cliquish. It's not as close to nightlife without an Uber. Pool was great.

We stayed at the Big Coconut during our first visit to Fort Lauderdale, and had a great experience. The staff were very kind and helpful, the courtyard and pool area are compact but very well maintained, and the majority of other guests were friendly. If you're looking for a low key, men only, clothing optional place to stay, I would recommend The Big Coconut. The only downside is that it's not in the most walkable neighborhood. In general,.it's about 1-2 miles into the heart of the gayborhood, and dining options in the immediate area are limited. There is a publix grocery a block away.

This was my second visit to this hotel and the staff is so sweet and welcoming. Most of the guests are friendly or mind their business. The heated pool is great. Location close to Wilton manors with a Publix Walgreens Dunkin and Wendy’s nearby.i just love the talking Friendly parrot. They leave umbrellas and two big beach towels in the room so it’s easy to travel light. Just be aware of your surroundings especially if going out at night the hotel next door on the corner seems unsafe. Minor issues I don’t like smelling cigarette smoke while I’m in the pool but that’s just me and perhaps have gluten free oatmeal at the breakfast for gluten free guests but honestly that’s no big deal. The only thing I don’t like is when people smoke By the pool it ruins the experience for me. Perhaps consider having day passes for those who wish to support your hotel especially during peak season if they can’t book a room when they want to travel. Overall I had a great experience. As always this was a great experience. Tom/Hazel, Lloyd, and Jim were amazing. Very accommodating for extending our reservation at the last minute. Have stayed here many times and will definitely stay here again.

This was our, my husband and I, first visit to The Big Coconut. We found the room to be spacious, the bed exceptionally comfortable, the pillows were perfect. All of the staff were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Met a great group of guys that were there many of them were returning guests. We liked it so much we have already booked our next trip.
