LaSalle Downtown Inn

We spent 2 nights at the LaSalle Guest House (9/26-9/27, 2025). This is a historic home with a rich history and charm, which we enjoyed. The unit we stayed in (Sion Bass Suite) was clean and comfortable with plenty of outlets, seating, and privacy. The house overall was clean and well kept, but I would not call it a super high-end luxurious experience. It was typical of what you would expect from a residential historical property. It wasn't in disrepair but it also wasn't pristine. The main floor had a sitting area with a full-sized refrigerator and microwave we were free to use. Getting in and out of our room was easy and secure (all touchpad-operated), and the communication we got via email beforehand was very thorough and well written. One assumption I made was that this was a B&B, but it does not serve breakfast. (This was my mistake.) But that was not a problem. There is a Starbucks directly behind it, and there were plenty of options for places to have breakfast nearby. One small thing that is atypical of an "inn": we never met any innkeeper(s) during our stay. There was no person(s) in charge on the property that we ever saw. This would have been a nice touch, but was not a huge deal to us. Fortunately, we didn't have any situations where we would have needed to talk to anyone anyway. My most important advice for anyone staying at LaSalle: bring foam ear plugs to wear at night. The house is located on a busy 3-lane boulevard and there were loud cars, trucks, and what sounded like large groups of Harley motorcycles roaring right past our front window all hours of the day and night. Having lived in cities, we weren't too bothered by it, but we were very glad we had packed our ear plugs for sleeping (we never go on a trip without them!). It was critical to getting a good night's sleep there, as the traffic noise is significant. I will add that, despite being on a busy street, the gravel parking lot in the back was spacious and private, with easy access in and out. We always felt safe and had no trouble parking. Nothing happened to our car. No issues as far as that goes.

I really liked it here. There was one downside, the traffic noise!!!! That would be a 1 star. The rooms are beautiful. No dresser space at all. The staff is so nice!

Non-functioning toilet! NO HELP ANYWHERE. One person let us in and left. We cannot stay here. Save your money and frustration!

Not for me! Adversied two person jacuzzi, but too small for even one person. Small rooms.

We needed to check in early and the owner graciously accommodated us. Close to downtown restaurants. The room was clean and we loved the in room jacuzzi.

Bed and breakfast this is not. Although signs all around it still say bed and breakfast. However, this stay was completely underwhelming. The owner or management does not answer emails or inquiries on time. They were quick to book the room but that was it. The room itself was very strange with a toilet that was not connected to the sink or shower/tub. So after your business, you had to walk across the room to wash your hands. We also had to walk on top of a grate to go in there. The stains on the carpets and comforters were concerning. The moldy smell in the room was also an issue. The DIY shower heads that sprayed everywhere was also an issue. The shower heads also needed to be cleaned. This place could be amazing but it is not well maintained nor feels welcoming.

Loved staying here. It was such a pretty room (Sion Bass suite) and cool historical home. The only reason I would rate it less than 5 is because there were some small stains on the carpet & bedding. It also smelled just mildly moldy in our room. But the Jacuzzi tub was AMAZING
