Greensboro Pride
About This Event
Greensboro Pride runs in September, not June, on purpose: Greensboro is a college town, and organisers moved it to when students are back. It started in 2006 as the Triad Pride Festival at what is now LeBauer Park, with about 400 people and six vendors. IMPAQT GSO, the group known until 2025 as Alternative Resources of the Triad, says the 2025 edition drew a record of more than 95,000.
2026 was the 20th anniversary and brought the first parade Greensboro Pride has organised itself; one planned for 2020 was cancelled by Covid. The week ran from a pageant at The Pyrle on 5 September to a worship service on 13 September. The main day was Saturday 12 September: a parade at 10am from near East McGee and South Elm streets to City Center Park, then a festival from 11am to 7pm around LeBauer Park with more than 300 exhibitors and two stages, and an afterparty at Twist Lounge.
The parade and festival are free. VIP lounge and meet-and-greet tickets are optional extras.
We couldn't find an official 2026 attendance figure. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.

Practical Tips
The festival runs 11am to 7pm in LeBauer Park — arrive around midday to catch main-stage performances without missing the parade.
ASL interpreters cover main-stage sets — ask a volunteer for the interpreted-viewing area near the front.
Downtown parking fills up fast on parade morning — park near the Cultural Center garage and walk two blocks in.
