Lazy Bear Week Guerneville

Lazy Bear Week is a week of bear parties in Guerneville, a small resort town on the Russian River about 75 miles north of San Francisco. The Lazy Bear Fund runs it as a 501(c)(3) and gives all profits to charity. The fund says it has raised more than $2.5 million. Patch reports that it began in 1995 as a small poolside gathering.

The week runs from a Monday to the next Monday. The daytime centre is the pool parties at the R3 Hotel on Fourth Street. The closing Saturday has the Fireside Fling dance party. Guerneville has little lodging and this is its busiest week, so book river cabins and resorts early.

The 30th anniversary edition ran 27 July to 3 August 2026. Instead of booking a headline act, the fund gave its largest grants ever, $150,000 in total. Lyric, the San Francisco LGBTQ youth centre, got $100,000 and Positive Images of Sonoma County got $50,000. Local press put the crowd at thousands of visitors. The organiser hadn't announced the 2027 dates when we checked.
