About this place Milktooth

Milktooth is an inclusive and welcoming spot in Indianapolis, known for its friendly staff and chill, bohemian atmosphere. Visitors often note the nostalgic decor, with details like utensils in tin cans and unique ceramic cups contributing to a familiar, retro feel from the 80s and 90s. It's a place where you can eat like a local, enjoying a distinct and atmospheric dining experience. While the venue offers a unique vibe, be aware that the menu is somewhat limited, and some patrons have found the pricing to be on the higher side for the portions received. However, many still praise specific dishes like the fantastic slab bacon and savory Dutch baby pancake. With a Google rating of 4.4/5 from over 2000 reviews, Milktooth provides a memorable, albeit sometimes mixed, experience for those seeking an authentic taste of Indianapolis.

Finally made it to Milktooth; to me, the decor has a nostalgic feel. Utensils placed inside a tin can, brownish mid-size plastic cups, and thick ceramic cups for coffee- all very familiar to me in the 80s and 90s 🤗. For the food, at first, you might think it was pricey, $23 for French toast!? But it was the best French toast: thick sourdough bread, crispy edges, soft middle, perfectly charred and caramelized; the flavor was complex, with the toppings and all. It sure was delicious! My husband got the hamburger, and I had a couple of bites; it was very good, too! 😋

this place is definitely deserved to be visited, as it is quite authentic and atmospheric, but i had poor experience and price for what i have got was ridiculous. i paid almost $20 for 2 scrambled eggs, 4 slices of bacon and glass of orange juice. i had to wait for that for more than 30 minutes. 20% tip is included, so it goes up to almost $24 for really small meal and poor service. sitting at the bar all that time an looking at all that food coming out for other customers made experience even worse. so decide for yourself whether you want to take a chance

I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at Milktooth.( Arlene’s Meat & Three) I visited with my daughter and waited 1 hour and 27 minutes exactly for our food. I understand restaurants get busy and mistakes happen, so I remained calm, patient, and respectful throughout the entire experience. However, after waiting that long, our food finally arrived looking absolutely terrible. The meal was poorly prepared, burnt, and not something that should have been served to any customer after such an excessive wait. To make matters worse, we then had to wait another 15 minutes for eggs that were missing from the order. By that point, we had been sitting there for nearly an hour and a half just trying to receive a complete meal. Being The only African-American people in the restaurant and seeing Everyone else being served quickly but us it’s really heartbreaking What made the situation even more frustrating was watching a Caucasian couple seated next to us who arrived well after we did receive their food much in less than 20 mins And Seeing other tables served while we continued waiting without any explanation was incredibly disappointing. When I finally spoke with the manager, I expected some effort to make things right considering the circumstances. Instead, I received a simple apology and was told that the next time I come in, I could get a free order of beignets. After waiting nearly an hour and a half, receiving burnt food, and then waiting even longer for missing items, offering free beignets on a future visit felt dismissive and completely inadequate. There was no attempt to adjust the bill, comp part of the meal, or provide any meaningful accommodation for the experience we had just endured. I was patient, understanding, and respectful from beginning to end, and unfortunately that courtesy was not returned. This experience was unacceptable, and the lack of accountability afterward was just as disappointing as the service itself
