About this place Federal Triangles Soccer Club (FTSC)

Federal Triangles Soccer Club brings together LGBTQ+ folks, asexual and intersex people, and their allies in Washington, DC, all through the game.

It's a nonprofit, focused on making soccer a relaxed, open space. You can play competitively or just for fun, no matter your skill level.

FTSC is a charity, an educational group too. Its goal is to get more queer people playing soccer, and to help players make real connections. They welcome everyone, from seasoned players to anyone just wanting to kick a ball around with a supportive crew.

DC has a strong LGBTQ+ presence, but this club offers something different than the usual bars or clubs. It's about sports, fitness, and building a community off the pitch. If you're in town, it's a good way to meet locals, stay active, and get a feel for the city's welcoming vibe. Check their website for teams, schedules, and how to join.

Our son loves being a part of the District Elite family. He’s been nurtured and encouraged in his skills and confidence by coaches who care and are passionate about the game and developing young players. There’s a kindness and care in the club that we value. I would strongly recommend this club if you have a young player.

Being part of this club for over three years has been such a blessing for our family. Our boys truly look forward to every single practice — not just for the love of soccer, but because of the environment this club has created.Coach Simon is more than a coach. He is a positive role model who teaches our children to believe in themselves, to think ahead, and to grow both as players and as young people. The confidence and character he has helped build in our boys is something we will always be grateful for. What also makes this club special is the strong sense of community. I always feel informed and supported. We are so thankful to be part of this journey!!

Our family loves DEFC! Our two sons have played for almost two seasons now. They really like the coaches, the focus on improving skills and learn to play as a team, and their teammates. Joao and his team are great too!

Highly recommend DEFC! The club teaches resilience, commitment, respect, hard work and so many other important attributes that apply to both on and off-field development.

We’ve been a part of DCYFC for about a year and have enjoyed watching our son grow under their programming. Coaches are very attentive and so good with the kids. The organization as a whole also maintains very open and frequent communication, keeps a tabs on the kids and how they’re doing, including suggestions and invitations to move between teams to offer new opportunities for growth. A wonderful youth sports organization and incredibly convenient location for weekday practices for any family based in NW DC.

A truly outstanding soccer club with a clear emphasis on each player’s growth and development. The coaches are deeply committed to helping kids achieve their full potential, and they balance high-quality training with genuine kindness and encouragement. The organization is also remarkably flexible and accommodating, which makes the overall experience smooth for families. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a club that puts players first.

We have two boys in District Elite and could not be happier with the overall experience and with their individual development. The club fosters a supportive environment for the players and the families. The coaching staff is professional, providing challenging and age-appropriate instruction. The club staff have been very responsive to various concerns and requests in ways that are unique. I would highly recommend District Elite for any young players who are serious about the sport, and for families looking for a great soccer community.
