Quantico Orienteering Club

The Quantico Orienteering Club is a non-profit that gets people outside for orienteering, a sport that mixes navigation, hiking, and a bit of friendly competition. It's also an LGBTQ+-welcoming spot. From June to September, mostly on weekends, the club runs social events and meet-ups all over the Washington D.C. area. If you're in town during those warmer months and want to meet local queer people in a different context than a bar, this is it. The events are volunteer-run, and they make it easy for beginners to try the sport. It's a good way to see some of the D.C. area's parks and connect with a community that's into the outdoors.
