Eden House Key West

DO NOT stay at the Eden House. We booked a five-night stay at Eden House in January 2026 and we’re still fighting for a refund from them as of May 2026. After seeing the photos on the website and the online reviews we booked a Queen Island Room. When we checked in, we were given what looked like a college dorm room that had a very strong mildew odor, had visible mold in the shower, there was no bed headboard and a bug on the bed pillow. We explained my girlfriend has asthma so mold/mildew isn’t an option and also that it was not what we booked given the photos on the website. Daniel at the front desk said there was nothing they could do. We had three hours of back and forth between the front desk, Booking.com, and us trying to find a solution. Eden House refused to cancel our reservation despite the misrepresentation in the photos and the mold/mildew. After Booking.com got involved, Eden House agreed to refund us for the majority of our stay as long as we paid for the first night since it was already 9PM by the time this was agreed on. Booking.com emailed us written confirmation of this so we agreed, left, and got another hotel for our stay. As I said, we’re still fighting with them in May 2026 for the refund. The front desk and management agreed to refund us, but clearly lied. They do not answer phone calls or emails. This is hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve had in my life. It’s not a locally owned mom and pop, it’s owned by Lumara Resorts, some conglomerate that operates hotels in Florida with terrible customer service. Stay far away from this place.

First time to Key West, and staying at Eden House. I had a poor experience that left me questioning my trust in the staff at this property. Very frustrating and upsetting and felt I was not told the truth about a very important issue. As much as I enjoyed other guests I met at Eden House, the Tiki Bar & pool, I don’t think I feel comfortable staying on this property again being that my issue was not resolved.

The hotel was very clean and in a great location, within walking distance to the main streets. The staff's attention was consistently 10/10. Highly recommended!

This place is a little slice of Heaven, so quaint and quiet. The staff goes above and beyond. We have been staying here for 20+ years and so many of the staff members have remained, something you rarely see and is obvious reflection of the management. The attention to detail, the addition of the bar around the pool and the fabulous front porch make this small guest house next level.

Loved this place. Close to walk to Duval St. I'd love to come here again.

My Husband & I have just spent the night here at Eden House after doing a roadtrip from Miami. This accommodation is so charming and feels like a great example of the types of homes in the area with its rustic character. We had great service from the staff helping us park our vehicle, offering us a cold welcome drink (very much appreciated after a long drive in the sun!) and highlighted the key points of interest on a local map. The room was very clean, tidy and there was a good size fridge for our bottled water. Thank you for having us and we hope to come back again one day! We are from the UK and fell in love with this town.

Eden House perfectly embodies that idea of ​​a refuge where the outside world stops knocking at the door. For those who have spent a life surrounded by responsibilities and a hectic schedule, such a place isn't just a hotel, but a promise of freedom. That's why Eden House and Key West seem like the ideal setting for a new chapter in life: Despite being close to downtown, it manages to maintain an almost surreal peace. It's the place where morning coffee lasts two hours because there's nowhere to escape. No cars: The bicycle becomes the primary means of transport. Moving among the pastel-colored houses of Old Town without the stress of traffic radically changes the perception of the day.

I will give the most honest review I can about my experience. I chose this property because we had stayed at the previous owner’s property in another city. I located the Eden House’s website and called the hotel directly for reservations. I was told by the gentleman who answered the phone that he couldn’t make reservations, and I needed to call their reservation line. I called the number he gave me and explained to the foreign sounding gentleman that I wanted a King Room and on the bottom floor due to health issues concerning my wife. I asked a couple more questions about the property which he really didn’t have an answer that I found unusual. When we arrive at the hotel, our room was upstairs, but the front desk clerk offered us a room downstairs. However, it was next to the lobby and the front desk so we declined due to noise. When we entered the upstairs room, I froze. It was extremely small, cramped, and nothing what I was expecting or saw online. I was very disappointed and upset about the room especially considering the high price I paid. I went and spoke to the front desk clerk who was very nice, and I explained I paid for a King Room. He told me that was the King Standard Room, and I told him it was not what I saw on their website that I thought I reserved. He then took me over to view one of the two King Supreme Rooms which was much much nicer and larger and exactly what I was wanting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t move that night, but he said he would move me in the morning which they did (for more money). What I also learned from him was that I had booked the stay through Expedia. I explained that I called the hotel directly and was told to call the reservation number, and they never informed me they were Expedia. He found that odd and said they could make the reservations for me at the front desk, and he gave me a business card with their number for the next time. Other than that the King Supreme room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were all very nice and accommodating to us. A couple of things to note. This is NOT a bed and breakfast. It used to be under the previous owners. It is a hotel, and we not the only ones staying there that made the wrong assumption. They do not serve breakfast, and they do not have an evening happy hour for guests. You only get a free beverage at check-in. They do have a good cash bar in the afternoons by the pool, but you can’t buy any food or snacks. They will give you a hand full of potato chips on a napkin. You can get free coffee or tea in the lobby. Breakfast is 2 blocks around the corner at a very small but good cafe. Bicycles are available to guests but they cost about $15 a piece for the day. The hotel is also about 5 1/2 blocks from Duval Street. In my opinion, the hotel is way overpriced for the amenities and distance from Duval Street. Other than a free beverage at check-in, there are no perks. I would never stay in the Standard King room for that price. I would definitely get the King Supreme. Not sure about one of the hammock rooms, but I understand they are bigger than the King Standard, but smaller than the Supreme. Would I stay there again? Possibly, but I would check other options first that could give you more bang for the buck.

Great Adults only place! Won't be disappointed!

We had a great experience staying here! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Even welcomed us with a nice cold beverage! The pool/hot tub area is very relaxing and clean. Free coffee in the morning! Location was great 10 minute drive to the main spots (duval street, southern most point, Mallory square) 15-20 min walk. Overall great experience and would definitely stay again!
