Womenfest Key West
About This Event
Womenfest is Key West's week for lesbian, bi and queer women, held at the start of September. It has run for more than 20 years. It is produced by the Key West Business Guild, the island's LGBTQ+ business association, with support from the county's tourism council.
The program is spread across the island's gay-owned guesthouses, bars and boats: pool parties, sailing trips, gallery tours, a retro prom, a Jell-O wrestling contest, a drag king boot camp and a drag brunch. Each year has a theme.
Practical: early September is hurricane season and the off-peak period in Key West, so room rates are lower, but buy travel insurance.
The 2026 festival ran 2 to 6 September. The Business Guild has announced the 2027 edition for 1 to 5 September, with the theme Alice in Womenfest.
