Womenfest Key West 2026
About This Event
Womenfest is Key West's big women's week — the largest lesbian and queer women's festival in the Florida Keys, held over the first weekend of September. In 2026 it runs 2–6 September under the theme "Lost Women in the Arts," honouring women creators history has overlooked.
It is a Key West party week rather than a Pride: pool parties, day parties, live music and DJ sets, a poetry reading and art exhibition tied to the theme, plus the island's own flavour — sunset sails, a clothing-optional snorkel trip, bike and trolley tours and foodie events. It is run by the Key West Business Guild, the island's LGBTQ business group.
Practical notes: Key West sits at the end of the Keys — about 3.5 hours' drive from Miami or a short flight in. Early September is hot, humid and firmly hurricane season, so watch the forecast. The island is tiny and walkable or bikeable. Book early; rooms are limited in season. The full schedule and tickets go up on gaykeywestfl.com/womenfest closer to the dates.

Practical Tips
September in Key West is hot and humid with hurricane-season showers, so pack light layers and a rain poncho.
Book bike rentals early — most Womenfest goers swap cars for two wheels around Old Town.
The Sunset Sail and clothing-optional snorkel trip sell out first, grab those before hotel add-ons.
