Very nice place. It's more to one end of the strip than the middle. Makes it nice if you like walking. If you want to go see things you're getting your steps in for sure. Enjoyed my stay. We were here for a conference. And the conference center is a nice long walk from the rooms. Definitely getting your steps in if you're into that.
Massive Casino. The room was amazing but the servicing was poor. Given I stayed for 5 days and not once was my room serviced. This shouldn't be such a problem given the vibe of Vegas, surely it can be better organised, maybe a booking system? The downstairs bars are all gloomy and moody settings, would be great to have something a bit more lively and vibrant.
Front desk agent was the opposite of helpful. She gave me my keys and sent me on my way. No mention or reminder about resort fee (so $50 lost). Room amenities were grossly lacking: no vanity kits, robes, or slippers. Got a renovated room. But the AC still lacks - room got hot in middle of the night. No offering of 'free' water bottles - again, going back to that resort fee, which for other hotels, usually includes 2 bottles of water. Casino feels gross, a deep cleaning of the carpets would be a good idea. Location is on the older side of the Strip, so hotels are going to be older circa 1990s; with the exception of Park MGM. There is more shopping here, but the shops (Ross) are those you can access from any city. ABC Store is good for getting affordable water and souvenirs. Parking is $25 for visitors, $20 for hotel guests. Easy to access from freeway.
It was a great experience. With the digital check in, it saved a lot of time. Everything was smooth and we did not have to wait in line at all. The rooms were nicely renovated. Only thing is I wish they would've implemented the smoking ban in the casino.
We have our favorite hotels that were completely booked for this convention trip to Vegas. So we opted for the MGM Grand, having not stayed here in several years. After reading other reviews, I made sure to ask for a room that was newly renovated, and I have absolutely no complaints with the room we got. They accommodated my request for a room that was closer to the elevators to eliminate such a long walk, too. The room is clean, fresh, updated and well appointed. The shower has awesome water pressure, even on an upper floor. The desk host, Vessy (shout out!), was FABULOUS...exceedingly friendly, helpful and accommodating. She represents this property very well. I've added one room picture but honestly our room looked like the photos provided by the property. Just be sure to ask for a newly renovated room. We do not have a view of the Strip, but we've done Vegas enough that we didn't care about that. If that is important to you, be sure to ask for that too. The pools at MGM Grand are truly great, and the lazy river here is the best in Vegas in my opinion, especially at this nightly price point. The fitness center is great and overlooks the lazy river for a calming view during your workout. Restaurants are plentiful so you can stay right on property if you wish but of course Vegas offers more options that you'll have time for if you choose to venture out. Viva Las Vegas!
