About this place Stratosphere Las Vegas

On the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, this casino hotel is known for its 1,149-foot observation tower, which you can see from pretty much anywhere. It’s a reliable spot for LGBTQ+ travelers who want a one-stop shop for a Vegas trip.

The tower itself has 360-degree views of the city and desert. You’re about two miles from the main Strip and Fremont Street Experience, so getting to other entertainment is easy enough.

Rooms start with standard modern setups and WiFi; suites get you marble entryways, seating areas, and minifridges. A resort fee covers WiFi, tower admission, discounted show and ride tickets, and gym access. There’s also a full casino.

For something beyond the usual, four rides operate 100 stories above the Strip—an extra charge, but they’re a rush. You can also dine with a view at the upscale rotating restaurant. And if you’re thinking of getting married in Vegas, there’s a wedding chapel here, too.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had coming to Las Vegas since I was 13 years old. The hotel staff accused me of running out on a tab while I was outside waiting for family members to show up 15 mins after checkout, the pools are all closed or open at weird times during half the week and other times the other half. Either way they both close at 6 (which is ridiculous if you have kids. The rooms still had other peoples trash in them and they double charged us for our booking. When we notified the hotel about this, they said they weren’t affiliated with the booking website we used. The parking garage has a QR code to scan to validate parking in garage as well that doesn’t work and when we called and asked about that, they said they weren’t affiliated with the parking garage even though it literally says “The Strat” all over the garage. The staff is terrible and extremely rude. There were two Security women that were above reproach and one valet attendant. Other than that, I would honestly rather stay in a motel 6 off the strip. Horrible! Do not waste your money.

I recommend going to dinner at the Top of the World restaurant on the 106th floor with a beautiful view of the city of Las Vegas. The food, desserts, and ice cream are exquisite.

First room had a broken thermostat on the wall. The staff didn't really care. There was also some EBT behavior on the 21st floor due to someone smoking herb and blasting urban music. We made the front desk guy move us at which point he said he couldn't guarantee no one would be smoking herb. I asked if they allowed it and he said no. Then they moved us to another floor. AC was jacked up but slowly cooled the room. Still smelled like young teens entertaining themselves. A oid at all costs. Rooms are ugly and outdated.
