I’ve had several disheartening experiences at this bar, and unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time the bartender was rude. During my last visit, she snatched the money out of my hands and handed me a warm bottle of Modelo for $9. If they want to thrive, they really need to improve their customer service.
A cool place to grab a drink and maybe dance a little.
Came to this bar as a visitor from another state who previously lived in Southern California. The bartender at night on Mondays was very rude and passive aggressive towards me making snide comments about my lighter skin tone (light skinned latino) and how I should be in Weho and not in Long Beach. Drunk and high customer came in and screamed in my face and harrassed the bartender. I've been to gay bars all over the US and in Latin America and never experienced anything like this before. Terrible experience
Visited at 3pm on a Friday and it was dead, but that should be expected at bars in Long Beach as most people start going out around 8pm. So be wary when to go as the bartended said it’s like this all weekend, too. The bartender was super nice, as she served me drinks and recommended restaurants for dinner. It is a large space for dancing and hanging. Also, it is cash only!!
Heads up, a guy PULLED A KNIFE on my friend at the open mic. Come to find out from a bar regular that this guy is an ex-marine with PTSD who apparently has done this "10-12" times before at bars on Broadway. Hispanic maybe Asian heavy set male with glasses, dark hair about 6'1 220 lbs. Cops have been notified. Incredibly hostile bar if you don't fit the mold of the people in there. Surprisingly unwelcoming for Long Beach. Service is rude and expensive for a cash only bar. Never setting foot in there again, beware.
