Beautiful bourbon themed hotel. We love Bardstown so this was the perfect place to stay. We upgraded to a suite which I would definitely recommend if available. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would love to come back when the pool bar is open. I don’t think it was busy enough during our stay. The restaurant offered a delicious dinner and plenty of places to relax with a couple cocktail around the hotel.

We live in Louisville and my wife picked this spot out for our 2 year anniversary. Yes the bones of the hotel are old but the renovations, pool/bar atmosphere, and restaurant were all wonderful experiences. We definitely will be going back for a nice little get away.

I honestly cannot recommend staying here. The check in host was fantastic, worked hard as the only attendant, and had great energy! Unfortunately, everything from there went down hill. We had reservations for dinner and arrived on time. We atood there for several minutes before the hostess came and said she would come back after setting our table. She finally returned, only to help the group that came in after us. Left again to set their table, came back and sat them, then finally came back and sat us. Our waitress was nice but service was extremely slow for drinks and food. They didn’t have the first 3 drinks I ordered stating they are premade and they ran out (at 6pm on a Friday). We also inquired about buying a bottle from the gift shop and were told you can’t. We finally reciprocated bourbon based drinks that were sub par and settled on gin and tonic for the rest of the evening. Our food was also very disappointing. For a couple hundred dollars, dinner in the hotel lobby and the experience we had was beyond disappointing. Some music would have helped the vibe. We had high hopes for the speakeasy after that! First, every table had dirty dishes unattended. We finally sat at a spot but nobody ever came over, it was freezing and there was no music or ambiance. It was just strange. We noticed others leaving quickly as well. So we left and sat by the pool with gin and tonic…at a bourbon hotel. The hotel room is ok, but the window unit air conditioner is extremely loud. I waited a few months to write this after contacting the hotel three different ways with no response. We spent several hundred dollars to eat in a hotel lobby with an off vibe, long wait, rude hostess, unavailable drinks, no service or ambiance in the speakeasy, and bad sleep. We were sorely disappointed. If you consider staying here, just know the vibe, food, and drinks did not live up to the social media presence and make sure you’re ok with the price. It’s clear the owners really tried to make this great and there is some cool decor in the entrance. But the food, drinks, and service need a major overhaul before we could consider recommending it or returning.
