About this place FIVE Nightclub

FIVE Nightclub has been Madison's gay dance club since 1998. It's at 5 Applegate Court on the south side near the Beltline, not on University Avenue as some old listings say. Its site and Isthmus list a full week: line dancing Mondays, trivia Tuesdays, karaoke and darts Wednesdays, drag bingo on the third Thursday, drag shows and kink nights on Fridays and Saturdays, Latin night on the first Saturday, and the Mad City Drag Revue on Sundays at 9:30pm. Hours are Monday to Thursday 4 to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 4pm to 2am, and Sunday 4pm to 1am. It's about 5 km from the Capitol, so take a rideshare. Google rates it 4.3 from about 220 reviews.

I love FIVE. Fun to be had literally every day of the week, the Sunday drag show is a real hit if you want to see some incredible artistry. My only complaint is the parking lot is cursed: I have had multiple friends get their vehicles damaged. The club did help with footage and the community is always kind and helpful, I just wish more people would heed Miss Kayos Lynn Mirage’s advice to take a safe way home so we can “hear from you, not about you”
