SAVE (Safeguarding American Values for Everyone)

SAVE — Safeguarding American Values for Everyone — was founded in 1993 and is now South Florida's largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organisation. The organisation operates on two distinct axes: political and legal advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights in Florida and nationally, and cultural programming that includes being the organising force behind the Winter Party Festival — one of the world's most significant LGBTQ+ circuit events. SAVE's advocacy work has included electoral campaigns, anti-discrimination ordinance battles, and sustained opposition to Florida legislation targeting LGBTQ+ rights. The cultural programming provides a funding base and a community-building function simultaneously: the Winter Party draws 10,000 people to Miami Beach each February, generating revenue that supports the organisation's advocacy activities.
