Queermunity

This was a presentation on MN AIDS quilt.

I was so hyped and excited about walking to Queermunity to be a part of the "alphabet community." While the food was tasty and vegan (thanks), the folks manning the Cafe were quite "matter of fact" if not cold. Interesting note, they definitely liked each other well enough to banter back and forth and laugh. It would have been nice if they shared a little smile with their customers. It was a great walk all the same & I saw a lot that is encouraging to me as I consider moving to Minneapolis. Queerminity is not part of the positive vibe for me, sadly.

great event space and communities

Amazing third space for queer aligned people to hang out. I love that there's a place I can meet people in my community and have some tasty beverages at the same time.

Not a lot of people when i went but i think its a good space for events and its queer friendly place

Went to pick up a too good to go order I placed the day prior. It was a cozy space that felt welcoming. As a fat black butch, I immediately felt welcome. They did not have pastries and the employee said they had a system issue that they hadn't bothered to fix so they were unaware of my order. Community is wonderful but this is poor business practice and I'm being cordial in giving 3 stars. I drove 15 miles from my house in hopes of supporting my community and I feel there was a failure here in allowing me to do so. I will not order again, sorry to bother your business with my patronage.

There was nobody behind the cafe counter when I came in and after waiting for several minutes I approached the front desk employee and they let the cafe employee know I was there. I waited another couple minutes—and this is when the place was almost empty, I was one of five people there. I got a sandwich and it was small for the price. The greens were roasted with the sandwich which wilted them. Otherwise it was okay. So if it were just a cafe I wouldn’t recommend at all. But as a queer friendly work space, which is what it advertises, it’s good. There are various seating options, plenty of space, and options for different group sizes. There are a few outlets, but most tables don’t have one. There’s a big shelf with books and games to use. There are plenty of plants to brighten up the space, and there’s no music playing. Everyone works quietly. The bathrooms are slightly dirty but the tables are clean. There’s also a free water station.
