The Chambers Hotel
Visitors often praise the Chambers Hotel for its excellent location. However, a significant number of guests report issues with non-functioning air conditioning, leading to uncomfortably hot rooms, and difficulty reaching the front desk. Some also mention problems with reservations and the condition of the rooms.

I stayed on a Friday and booked through Expedia. I was also charged through the hotel. Called and selected prompt to contact hotel and it repeats the menu.
So the hotel is nice but we booked the hotel room with continental breakfast and there is no continental breakfast for our entire stay because they are having some issue with their vendors. The room is nice, but there was a used water bottle under the chair (I think little details like that matter). The toilet seat looked SUPER worn (and I have never said that about a hotel). It looked so bad I honestly didn’t want to sit on it. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel.
Booked 2 nights, knowing we would arrive quite late on night 1 but needed a place to sleep. Hotel canceled our reservation as a no show ... but we did show! Then they had no other rooms available. Horrible policy. Check the most recent reviews ... this property is struggling which would explain why they have rooms available. Buyer beware!!
Terrible experience! Walking in feels more like an old hospital rather than a hotel. When I went to check in they had no rooms available even though I'd made reservations and checked in after the check in time started. Once I finally got a room I got settled and went out. When I came back my key wouldn't work. Had to go get it reset. Now my smoke detector will not start beeping and apparently I'm supposed to fix it myself.
DO NOT STAY HERE, the location is the only redeeming quality. The room was okay, but the AC for the whole building is out and it was 88 degrees in my room! And they ran out of fans for guests! Not only was management not on site, they did not respond to the multiple emails I sent either, and I tried both emailing a manager directly when I asked the front desk person, and their general inbox. Also no one picks up the phone either and I can’t even leave a message. I called multiple times over a couple of days, not once did they pick up. I’m extremely disappointed at how unprofessional this place is. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in both hospitality and customer service. I was begging for any type of response, I ended up having to call the booking service I used to get a refund. I was going to stay a week, but left after the first night. On top of all of that, they charge $75 a night for incidentals- so that’s another $450 for 6 nights. Cannot believe I spent $1100 here and they haven’t responded to me in 2 days!! You would be better off literally anywhere else, avoid at all costs. Just for this reviews reference, I checked in the 24th, left by morning of the 25th, and I still haven’t heard a single word from this hotel the evening of the 26th. UPDATE 5/31: So it’s been nearly a week and they never returned communications to me even after I stopped by to speak with the manager in person 🤡🤡🤡 I stopped by 5/29 to speak with a manager only because I happened to be in the area, and I spoke with him briefly about the issues I experienced and to ask when I’m getting my deposit back. Apparently I was meant to get it back the day of original checkout, but given it’s a weekend, I’m letting it slide on the financial institution side of things for a couple of days. I understand that refunds can take time to come back, I guess we’ll have to see. Apparently, he didn’t see any of the multiple emails from me, so he provided me an additional email address to contact him. I even had the him verify it was written correctly and everything. Well that was Friday afternoon, it’s Sunday morning. Nothing. I’ve called, emailed 3 separate inboxes, and spoke with the manager in person and all I got was a bare minimum apology from the guy and some basic acknowledgment that the situation sucks. I got a “sorry” after I had to come in person, and that’s it. I think you actually have to try to ignore your customers this bad. Like I would accept one single email being “Oh we’re so sorry, let us look into this and we’ll be back with you to resolve this” as an acknowledgment to my issues, but nope, nothing. I’ve been thoroughly ignored and got one basic platitude. 0/5, worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. UPDATE 06/01: Well seems the hotel finally replied to booking.com one week later and they denied me a refund 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 I seriously cannot believe it. I am hoping that they denied the booking.com request so I can get my $200 cancellation fee back (from booking.com’s side, the hotel did not charge the fee) and the hotel will refund me the in full. I am seriously hoping that is the case, because if they denied me a refund for my stay that was absolutely unacceptable AND front desk staff told me that it would be taken care of AND I had to come back to speak to the manager in-person because, again, NO ONE HAS ANSWERED ME… I am beyond livid. Under no circumstance should anyone ever stay here- they will ignore you and steal your money without any hope of resolution. UPDATE 06:17 Apparently the hotel denied my credit card dispute. I booked through booking.com and got the non-refundable rate, I will admit that. But dude. 88 degrees in the room when I checked in, pic attached shows room was 83 before 9 AM the next morning. I spent one miserable, hot sleepless night and left for another hotel. Front desk lady said it would be taken care if I contact the booking service I used. It’s been a headache ever since. In no world is that room temperature acceptable, non-refund policy or not. Shame on this place.
Avoid this sketchy hotel. I arrived in May and was turned away by the front desk (an employee named Tensia Morris) despite having a reservation because the air conditioning was broken throughout the entire hotel. It was suffocatingly hot. The employee wrote handwritten letters, assuring declined guests that we wouldn't be charged, but then she never actually canceled with Booking.com. So we were charged even though we never stayed! Good luck getting in touch with their front desk -- this sad hotel never answers the phone or email.
