It is with a heavy heart I write this review. For many years (8) My family has booked and stayed at this hotel, we have been loyal top dollar payers for the owners of this property always staying the most expesive week of the year leading up to labor day weekend. This facility is a strange love / hate relationship between the rentable Co-op units and the ones that owners decide not to rent. The rentable units and amenities are all managed by a third party management group who is resonsible to the Co-op board. Over the years this relationship has strained and caused a rif between paying customers, the management firm, and the owners. These said owners are not nice to the renting clientel and have taken a once hidden gem open for bookings in advance and decided to play games, often times moving when the "sysetm" opens to book and even having the management firm move your booking from one unit to another. They go out of their way to make the units ambiguous during booking so you cant actually know for sure whihc unit is yours. When I first started here you could pick your unit, pay market rate for it and move on with a secured booking, now its turned into a crap shoot becuase owners slam dunk on renters and cause chaos. It used to be a family friendly, amazing location, with a relaxed atmosphere. Recently it has become unpleasant so do not waste your money. Book an air BNB on the same road for a similar experience you can still use the public beach located next to the hotel(sunset beach) and enjoy the scenery of the ocean from your rented home, or go to star island yatch club. I refuse to pay 6K for a unit for 4 nights only to be subject to constant eyes and scrutiny by big overgrown babies who diecided to make other peoples live miserable. I particularly chuckled at the first come first serve parking which turned into an episode of curb your enthusiasm with parking cones labled "owner" clearly intended to make non owners feel not welcome LOL. lets face it they are gaining 4' of walking time (just petty and shameful) Watchout for the contingient of owners who live in a neighboring state, they seem to be the reason behind all the cultural changes a the Montauk Soundview. Lastly but not least the outside picnic tables and some of the other areas on site had cockroaches so if you do decide to stay here make sure you check your stuff before you head home. In typical crappy human fashion a small group of want to be somebody's invested money in a Co-op hotel for all the benefits and have decided to stom their feet in protest of the rules that made the investmanet affordable to them to begin with. If that was the intent they should have bought a private residence to visit... Also the soundview should be responsible to share these details to paying clients so they are not catfished into thinking the place is as it once was. Shame on the Co-op baord for allowing such nonsense. We will be taking our business elswhere for the next 10 years and it is recomended you do the same.

We recently had the most wonderful stay at the Montauk Soundview hotel and couldn't be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the hotel's relaxing and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect escape. Our absolute favorite parts of the trip were the fantastic pool and beach areas. The pool was a true highlight—it was impeccably clean and offered a serene spot to unwind. We spent hours relaxing by the water, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the breathtaking views of the sound. It felt like our own private oasis. The staff were all so welcoming and helpful, which only added to our fantastic stay. We can't wait to return and create more memories!

The place is nice, and the location is great but the staff is really mean. Oh and the bathroom toilet always had this awful smell. We were refused to change rooms
