Stay at any hotel around this one. Highly recommend the Westin. From walking in the front door I should have known to turn around. The front desk staff (Very tall gentelman) didn't even greet us with a hello. "Are you checking in" then stuck his hand out and asked for valid ID and credit card. We get into our room and noticed the trashcans were in disarray with no bags to use. The patio was about a foot in width and had no chairs. We booked a suite and the only sink was in the bathroom. We get ready to go to the pool/spa area. The pool was freezing cold and surprise the hot tub was also broken. Hair floating all over both pool and hot tub. We called the Westin next door and they were so gracious to let us use their pool. Greeted us with 5 happy faces and walked us right to their 70° pool and 100° hot tub. We ordered 2 kids meals after coming back from the other hotel. To go mind you. Did not include a side or drink and auto gratuity was included. A small box of pasta was 18$. The next morning to our surprise breakfast was not offered for our room. Even though on the website it said breakfast included. We know where we were staying when we visit Philly next time.
The rooms are good and being a all suite hotel provide plenty of space. However we stayed only for one night and I feel this size of place was an overkill. However the room service left much to be desired. First there was no drinking water (bottles) placed in the room. The tea/coffee station was inadequately stocked.
I would love to give this hotel a higher rating. The rooms were very nice, well equipped, and homey. Unfortunately there was an issue that seems to be becoming indicative of Hilton hotels. I was traveling with my toddler son. Two days before arrival I call, thinking I'm speaking to the front desk, and request a room with a bathtub. Then after an 11 hour drive I get to the desk and the clerk tells me they have no bathtubs at that property. Had I known that, I would have stayed elsewhere. The manager when I tracked him down was apologetic and offered me 10k points back but it was still a big hassle and difficulty that could have been avoided.
Stayed here for a good two weeks so I became pretty familiar with the place. The Good: - the room is nice as is the bed - has a nice restaurant bar downstairs - staff is nice and friendly The No So Good: - my biggest complaint is the shower... the shampoo / conditioner / shower gel dispensers are on the side wall vs the long wall... why is this a big deal? Because you can't stand in front of the showerhead without your shoulder bumping into them, whereas if they were on the far wall, it wouldn't be an issue since the shower is longer than it is wide. I know it would be a pain to fix it but... definitely worth it since it's a pain for your guests... kind of totally ruins that showering experience - the place is pretty big so it can sometimes be a pain to find a place to park that's near your room... I found I had to walk pretty far quite a few times and that's not exactly fun after working a 12 hour shift - the place does have quite a few convention style rooms so as a guest, you may have to deal with a lot of folks in the hotel that come to them which could be a good or bad thing - was advised at check in breakfast was $20 so that's something I never explored
I got ready here the day of my wedding and it is a very nice place, but my morning was filled with problems. First, they told my wedding party to get ready in the wrong room when we paid for a specific room… and then they all had to move to the room we actually paid for after our hair and makeup people were already set up. Then, I made plans for breakfast to be set up for everyone, but the guy I talked to never finalized it. At least the hotel was accommodating and took care of it, which I appreciated.
