via Stay22About this place The Cub Room
The Cub Room at New Hope Lodge is a small, quiet bar that takes its cues from old movies, good for a drink after dark.
There's a 1950s American cinema vibe here, but it's not overdone. Think classic cocktails and a short wine list in a low-key setting. It's the kind of place you can actually talk to someone.
New Hope, Pennsylvania, has been an LGBTQ+ friendly town for a long time, with its own particular mix of small-town charm and wooded scenery. The Cub Room feels right at home in that.
You'll find it at 404 York Road, inside New Hope Lodge. They're working on a snack menu; call ahead to see what's on offer. It's a reliable spot for an evening drink, whether you're staying at the lodge or just passing through town. Check newhopelodge.com/the-cub-room/ for hours and other details.

Comfortable, friend staff and clientele
I have been coming here for many years. I would come just about every Friday and Sat night and knew almost all the guys there. Then it was sold to a new owner. A beautiful deck was added and an outdoor space w a fire pit. Great improvements, however, the bartenders who drew everyone here were unfortunately fired. Now I only come about once every 2 months, the crowd is totally different, and I don't see any old friends. Now, instead of mixed, it is mostly an older crowd, mostly women. It used to be a place to meet friends, but it has become a "club wannabe" with music louder than at a circuit party. Forget about talking to anyone. Your voice will be shot the next day from shouting. I'm sure the employees will have hearing problems. There is a beautiful heated deck to escape the deafening music, but it is usually full of yellow-toothed chain smokers. It is, however, the only gay bar with mostly gay customers, although not all.
So here's my question my wife and I are a very happy couple so this place was refered to us. So my wife is looking for a girlfriend/play partner would this be a good place to try out . Let us know
A local who has lived here for 22 years. I’ve been here a couple times and it was all fine but tonight was a different story. Waited for 10 minutes while a bunch of staff just wandered around, talking to people around the bar… literally leaning on the bar, not caring that not only us but a different couple were right there waiting at the tables. I went up and asked if there was a waiter and he said, yes, someone will come, but again, just sat there with my significant other while they chatted and didn’t give a hoot we existed. After about 20 minutes we left. We know it was that long because we can tell when we locked the car on our phone. Shame, I had nothing but nice things to say about this place before but clearly they really don’t need business so all I’d say is I guess if you’re not one of their favorites you could just be sitting there wasting your time. I really hope it wasn’t discrimination. I know the vibe but I thought they of all people they are accepting.
