The staff at the hotel was the best and made the difference to our stay.

The location of this hotel is perfect with great walkability and subway access. Somehow, the rooms also managed to be extremely quiet. The hotel service was great and I appreciated the luggage storage on our last day. Breakfast options were standard (no complaints-most hotels in NYC don't have free breakfast) and we loved having coffee available at all hours. The rooms were small, but typical for Manhattan, with the added surprise of daily housekeeping service. My only complaint was that our king-sized bed was really short. I'm only 5'8" and my feet hung well off the end. In previous reviews I read complaints about long waits for the elevator, but that was never a concern during our visit. We would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was the only good thing. It’s pretty dirty, housekeeping was great at taking towels, but not replacing them.

Breakfast was terrible -very limited options in the first place, plus trays with an omelette and patties were always empty. Fruit basket empty, water cooler empty. I couldn't refill my water bottle with water, not even once, it was always empty. During breakfast a kitchen personnel came down to our table with a huge trash bag full of trash and started throwing our food in it, even though nobody asked for it and we were still eating!!! Great New York experience! I will not be returning here, or recommending this place to anybody.

Decent holiday inn express. The rooms are very compact (which I did expect in Manhattan), but comfortable. We had a high floor with a view of the empire state building, which was great! I spent hours at night watching it. The breakfast was very busy, but OK. The location was perfect for downtown Manhattan.

The hotel provided a pleasant experience overall. The room was spacious and reasonably quiet, and the staff were helpful whenever assistance was needed. There were a few minor signs of wear in some areas, but nothing that affected my stay. Good value for the price and a convenient option for travelers.

Great place to stay, surrounded by tasty pizza, dessert, and coffee shops. Clean with friendly, helpful staff. Giving a shout out to Jasmine at the front desk for making us smile.

the rooms are SO SMALL. restrooms don’t even LOCK. it’s a slide door. WITH A GLASS DOOR (no tub). key cards didn’t work ONCE. the bathroom was the size of an SUV. it took us 6 hours to get checked into our rooms. there was also no microwave or body length mirror. No washing machines or dryers in the hotel and the ac cannot be turned off. However there is complimentary breakfasts, vending machines, and a fitness gym. So MAYBE it was okay but not really. Also the Empire State Building is very close however the Hyatt hotel next door had a rooftop lounge area that has a BEAUTIFUL view of the city and is probably a better hotel…👀

Good location! Rooms are small & definitely need updating, threadbare carpets, wall paper peeling etc! Easy improvement would be a small fridge in the rooms! Staff very pleasant & helpful.

I am extremely disappointed with my husband’s experience at the Holiday Inn Express Times Square. During his stay, a complete stranger was somehow given access to unlock his hotel room and walked into the room at approximately 3:00 AM while he was asleep. This was an incredibly frightening and serious breach of safety and security. How can you possibly just open someone’s hotel room and walk in in the middle of the night?!? Since the incident occurred, it has now been three weeks. My husband has spoken with the front desk, hotel management, and even corporate customer service, yet no meaningful resolution has been provided. There has been no refund, no genuine apology, and no accountability for what happened. What makes this even worse is the lasting impact this experience has had on him. He has struggled with anxiety and sleep issues ever since because he no longer feels safe staying in hotels after such a traumatic experience. A hotel’s number one responsibility is guest safety. The fact that a stranger was allowed access to an occupied room is completely unacceptable. The lack of urgency, compassion, and follow-through afterward has been just as concerning as the incident itself. I would strongly encourage others to reconsider staying here until the hotel takes guest safety and customer concerns more seriously.
