About this place Funders for LGBTQ Issues

Funders for LGBTQ Issues isn't a bar or a museum, but a New York-based organization that directs money to queer causes. It's a professional outfit, not a place for drinks, dedicated to getting philanthropic dollars into the hands of LGBTQ nonprofits and grassroots groups across the U.S. They've been at it for three decades, acting as a go-between for big funders and the organizations that need the cash. Anyone curious about how money shapes the LGBTQ movement, or the nuts and bolts of nonprofit advocacy, could start here. They keep an office on West 29th Street in Manhattan. Stop by if you're in New York and want to ask about their initiatives or how they back the broader LGBTQ community. Their website has more details on their mission and programs. This group is a key part of New York's LGBTQ infrastructure, working behind the scenes to make sure communities have the resources they need. It's a place to connect with the foundational work of the movement.

I first had meetings here in what had been the actual showers, hoping that the pipes didn't burst, or leak. I was here for the Rainbow Book Fair, which took center attention.
