NYC Pride isn't just a party; it’s the city’s official LGBTQ+ celebration and a hub of activism. Heritage of Pride, a nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, puts on the week-long annual events, all of them honoring the Stonewall riots. If you’re in New York during Pride season, this is where you go for the official programming.
Heritage of Pride is a non-partisan, tax-exempt group. They organize everything from the serious commemorations to the sheer joy of it all. Visitors get a chance to be part of something that remembers the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, but also celebrates how far the community has come.
Because volunteers run it, these events feel connected to grassroots activism. It’s not some corporate thing.
You’ll find Heritage of Pride on Christopher Street in Manhattan’s West Village, right in the heart of one of New York’s most important LGBTQ+ neighborhoods. Stop by their office or check their website if you want to know about the official events, sign up to volunteer, or just get a handle on NYC Pride's past and future. It’s a community-driven celebration, reflecting both the history of LGBTQ+ resistance and contemporary pride in New York City.

Cynthia was absolutely wonderful to work with. My wife and I had accumulated a lot over the years in our NYC apartment, and the space started to feel overwhelming and cluttered. Cynthia came in with such a calming, thoughtful, and non-judgmental energy and immediately helped us create momentum. By the end of the session, we had donated and purged so much, created systems that actually make sense, and honestly felt lighter mentally. Highly recommend Cynthia if you’re looking to declutter, simplify, organize, or reset your home environment.
Cynthia was a major help purging and organizing 10+ years of out of style clothes, extra reusable shopping bags, and travel essentials. Would recommend her to anyone who needs organizing guidance.
Cynthia was so much fun to work with! We had a pretty big job on our hands decluttering three separate closets and we got it all done. I loved that she placed everything in piles to create a "to do" list - it made getting everything out of my apartment and sold / donated so much easier! HIGHLY recommend!
Cynthia is nothing short of magical, methodical, and downright marvelous! She took what felt like an overwhelming bathroom project and completely transformed the space with calm, clarity, and precision. Her attention to detail and logical, thoughtful approach made every step feel purposeful and manageable. Her depth of experience and knowledge is truly invaluable. I feel such a sense of relief and now I have a clear plan, a system that works, and the confidence to maintain it. And the follow-up? Incredible. Cynthia sends a thoughtful, resource-packed email full of personalized ideas, links, and suggestions to take things even further. Cynthia is the best! I’ll have her back in a heartbeat and can’t recommend her highly enough!
Cynthia was very helpful in getting my closet and apartment organized. She's hardworking and talented at what she does.
Cynthia is terrific. Her approach is extremely methodical and logical, which I really valued. My job was a little bit stressful because I have a ton of stuff, and she was extremely patient, and everything she suggested we do just made perfect sense. She’s extremely professional and polite and a pleasure to be around. If I hadn’t worked with Cynthia, I’m positive I would be sitting on the floor with my head in my hands crying right now. She was a total game changer. I would use her again in a minute or recommend her to anybody. And her dog Zucker was so calm, sweet and adorable. Thank you so much for everything, Cynthia!!
