Palm Springs doesn't have a traditional cruising scene the way some big cities do — here the action has always leaned toward the private world of the clothing-optional resorts, where the pool deck does most of the socializing. For a dedicated adult venue, Club 541 is the city's only men's club.
Outdoors, the best-known spot is the Whitewater River (Cruising Area) area, in the canyon off the I-10 Whitewater exit about fifteen miles northwest of town. It has a long, if unofficial, reputation, but it comes with real desert caveats: it's remote, phone signal is patchy, and daytime heat can be genuinely dangerous. If you go, tell someone where you're headed, carry far more water than you think you need, avoid the midday sun, and remember this is open public land where discretion and respect for others matter.
