Doctor Douglas Rae and the staff at Prisma Community Care has gone above and beyond to get my medication sorted it out with the pharmacy including calling my health insurance and following up with me I really appreciate them going through all that trouble and keeping me in the loop I also had a very positive experience when I went in to my appointment in person great experience overall!

I went there seeking mental health services and pcp care, and it was a disaster. I was chased up the stairs by another Client was forced to handle it in a fit of adrenaline and then told how terrible I was based on how I had to handle it and then the client in question was babied. I had my provider Invalidate my SA That she knew about because she is the one that found the results of my tests. The front desk refused to give me a copy of the late policy they purposely antagonized me over and over again, having me speak to management over and over again, no resolution, nor apology was found, even after speaking to their district manager. After having missed another appointment that I received no email or text notification of they told me to wait in the waiting room for something that was emergent to be seen by a provider. I waited out there for 30 minutes. Nobody called me up nor spoke to me or acknowledge me so I went to the ER upon arriving at the ER. I’ve received an email notification that they had scheduled another appointment without my consent that I had that missed because I was an upper Scottsdale at the ER at the time of the appointment that was scheduled and was then notified that I would not be able to schedule any more appointments and that I would only be allowed to be seen on a walk-in basis, which doesn’t work for the therapy that I was receiving because it has to be scheduled a week in advance because my therapist was only available two days a week. I told them that I wanted to cancel my primary care services and still Seek services from my therapist and instead of communicating with me in regards to that via email phone call or text I just received multiple notifications that all of my appointments were canceled. I attempted to reach out and was sent to voicemail hung up on and I was unable to reach anyone they don’t even have a direct line for the Mental Health team. I began to feel so unsafe that I was slipping back into hypervigilance so I left indefinitely after multiple emails back-and-forth between the district manager. He became very clear that he was not going to tell me what his availability was on his schedule even after I clarified over three different emails that he would simply have to Move an appointment around on his schedule and that I would have to move around my entire life as I had a full schedule and had to seek mental health services elsewhere. All over terrible experience constantly had to watch over my shoulder, was constantly afraid that I was going to be chased up the stairs again no apology nor resolution was ever found. I was scared to enter the building security even lied about what was said, and told them that I was issuing Threats which was not what actually happened. I have a traumatic brain injury from a seizure that makes me slur my words when I am overwhelmed Or exhausted I also have dyslexia and PTSD if you have PTSD I would not recommend seeking services from Prisma. You will be triggered over and over and over again and they will treat you like a number instead of a person. I was unable to fit all of this into grievance form and I gave up trying to reach out to the director and gm.

I thought i had found a health care provider that fit my finances and my needs and made me feel safe, but after this last appointment, I’m left feeling completely dismissed and unheard. And truthfully, I’m really on the fence on if I’d ever come to this facility again. I came in to discuss a recurring health concern and restart a medication that had previously worked for me, but instead of fully listening to my medical history or allowing me the space to wholly explain why I was there, Tanner repeatedly interrupted me and seemed more interested in correcting me than understanding my concerns. I don’t claim to know more than someone with years of medical training, and I value a provider’s expertise. But there is a difference between explaining the evidence and treating a patient’s lived experience as though it’s impossible. My situation was completely dismissed despite the fact that reputable medical organizations acknowledge that my lived experience absolutely can occur. And when I explained that I felt dismissed, he gave the excuse that he was simply trying to “educate” me, when that wasn’t the care or education I needed in that moment. The appointment essentially ended with Tanner walking out on me as if i was some nuisance before I ever felt like I had been heard or that my concerns had actually been addressed, and the prescription that was sent to my pharmacy only reinforced that my concerns had never been fully heard. Maybe if I had been given the opportunity to actually explain my history and what I needed instead of being corrected and talked over, it would have been clear what treatment I was actually requesting. As of right now my prescription has yet to have been corrected, and I don’t have the time or the money to try and correct it, so I guess I’ll just have to stay unmedicated until I can find a provider that will actually hear me and not leave me feeling like crap all alone in a patient room after finally finding the courage to be on top of my health.
