The Farish House

We tried Farish House for my sister’s birthday celebration. Unfortunately, the service made it an unpleasant experience. Our waitress was borderline rude. The atmosphere was not warm or inviting, though I admit that the ambiance might have been impacted by the staff. The food was decent, but overpriced for the service that you receive. I would not recommend this establishment if you are wanting the experience to be special.

Our waiter (forgot her name, my bad!) was so sweet and lively, and the place itself has such a cozy atmosphere. But… the food. I’ve never had food so bland at a restaurant before. For reference, I had their eggplant dish. Not much to say besides the fact that it had no flavor. I tried some of my friend’s dishes: a steak and a pork chop meal. Again, no flavor. None. Super disappointing considering the cost. Overall, great service and a wonderful setting, but, unfortunately, the food is too bland to justify buying at any cost, nevertheless $40+.

Farish House is the kind of restaurant you wish every city had. From the moment you walk in, it feels less like a restaurant and more like you’ve been invited into a friend’s cozy home somewhere in Europe. Warm, intimate, unpretentious, and incredibly welcoming. The food is on another level. Every dish is thoughtful, beautifully executed, and packed with flavor—the kind of European comfort food that somehow feels both elegant and comforting at the same time. Every bite had us saying, “You have to try this.” The cocktail program is outstanding, but the real hidden gem is the wine list. Finally, a restaurant that isn’t just another lineup of predictable California wines. The selection spans regions and varietals from all over the world, with something exciting whether you’re an adventurous wine lover or just looking to discover your next favorite bottle. It’s one of the most thoughtfully curated wine lists I’ve seen in Arizona. What truly ties it all together is the hospitality. The staff genuinely loves what they do, knows the menu and wine list inside and out, and makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. Locally owned, incredibly charming, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place with soul, phenomenal food, world-class wine, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger for hours, Farish House is it. Hands down one of the best dining experiences in Phoenix. We can’t wait to go back.

Best food I’ve had in ages. We will 100% be back. Comfort French food with labeled gluten free options! We had the dates, ratatouille, short rib, and beef bourgeois. All were so good.
