Art Exhibit: BTG Opening First Friday: Flour Pail Kids & odd t
About the event
About the Show: “For its November showcase, Behind the Glass at Farmhouse Table Midtown is excited to feature the work of multi-disciplinary artist Scar Markham (he/him) aka Flour Pail Kids and realistic and scenic photographer odd t (she/her). Swing by on November 6 from 6-8pm. Learn more about this event and others at firstfridayrochester.org.”
About the Gallery: “Behind the Glass Gallery began in January 2023 with a simple mission: to showcase underrepresented artist in Rochester. Curated by photographers Richard B. Colón, Quajay Donnell and Rob Bell, BTG was built as a platform — not a gate. The gallery rotates monthly exhibitions, with a focus on emerging creatives. Since opening, more than 80 artists have exhibited their work through BTG. We don’t charge artists to show. We don’t prioritize status or following. If the work is strong, it belongs on the wall.
Behind the Glass has become more than a gallery. It’s a confidence builder. A launching point. Alumni have gone on to solo shows, publications, zines and collaborative projects across the city. Now located at Farmhouse Table (First Friday) , and Golden Supply & Mfg. Co. (Last Friday) in downtown Rochester, BTG continues to expand — participating in First Friday, publishing the Behind the Glass Yearbook Zine, and producing a companion podcast through the Lunchador Network where artists speak about their process in their own words.”
