Love this place so much!

One of the owners got in my face over a misunderstanding and threatened me. I wasn't intoxicated and when the other person cleared up the misunderstanding with her, she never apologized to me. I've never been treated so badly by a business owner that I was trying to support and I've especially never been threatened. I planned on becoming a regular patron, but I don't feel comfortable ever going back or recommending this bar to my friends. To be clear, the bartenders, security staff, and DJ were all lovely people, but this owner was unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional and I won't be back. (I didn't intend to post publicly, I tried to send a private email via the contact email on their website, however, the email bounced back undeliverable.) I've been to karaoke bars around the world, I've always tipped the DJ upon leaving as a thank you. At Tavernacle, if you want to sing without waiting several hours, you have to tip upfront as a bribe. That rubs me the wrong way. I haven't experienced that at other karaoke bars. At other bars, tipping the DJ wasn't conditional to your spot in the queue. The DJ that night was a nice person with fun energy, but I don't agree with the idea that the level of service provided is determined by how much you tip upfront. Like I said, most of the staff were genuinely kind humans. The sound system and production value were great. But I can't recommend this venue based on my experiences above.

Great fun had by all

We came in from out of town and were looking for a fun stop to end the evening. We had the absolute best time here. The staff was so kind, the drinks were great, and the music was AWESOME. Highly recommend visiting Tavernacle!

First timer here, such a great experience. If you’re looking for a spot to come listen to live music, and enjoy food & drinks, this is the spot. Highly recommended!

Hi! I would like to say karaoke is definitely a 10/10! However, when it comes to customer service especially ordering food, 0/10. I had ordered simple a basket of fries and it took two hours to receive on a weekday night. Meaning it wasn’t as busy as a weekend evening. I luckily got a refund after speaking with the manger and it took another hour to get my food. If I didn’t walk up to another worker to complain about a basket of fries I wouldn’t have gotten anything. I strongly believe if management worked on serving the people that walked on, their business would sky rocket. Thank you.

karaoke and nachos, what more could a man want

5 stars This piano bar is a true gem that’s been going strong for decades — and in this day and age, that tells you everything. The owner, T, is the reason it’s such a great place! You would never know he owns it, because he’s right there at the piano every night, playing songs for his customers and making sure everyone is having an amazing time. He’s not your typical bar owner who hides in the back or acts like he’s above everyone — T is a total throwback! He genuinely cares, remembers faces and names, and you can feel his love for his bar and every person who walks in. If you want a spot that truly feels like home with tons of energy, this is the place to check out!!

Last night we were just walking by and noticed their sign for karaoke, so we figured we'd pop in. I was honestly surprised they had karaoke going on a Sunday, but I'm so glad we stopped. Had the best time. The atmosphere is great, and Jay the KJ was awesome. He really made the night. The stage and lighting are awesome, plus having two different microphones to choose from is great. Definitely a hidden gem for a Sunday night out when you're dreading returning to work on Monday. I didn't try the food but I saw a few other guest's plates and it looked amazing. Will definitely try it next time I stop by. I think I know where I'll be spending my upcoming Sundays from here on out. Can't wait to come back.
