The breakfast was LACKING. No fruit no eggs no protein just straight carbs and juice. Possibly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever experienced. The rooms were standard, the people working were very kind to change our room because our first one had a leak in the roof of the bathroom (dripping water on us while we use the toilet). Old building. But okay location!
This hotel is priced appropriately for what it is: an aging, bare-bones property in a convenient downtown location. Do not expect anything modern, polished, or particularly welcoming. The most absurd part of the stay was being forced to sit through a 30-second Prevagen advertisement before being allowed to access the hotel Wi-Fi. Prevagen has faced FTC action over deceptive advertising claims, and there is limited independent evidence that it meaningfully improves memory. Making paying guests watch a questionable supplement commercial just to access 15 Mbps internet is both tacky and insulting. The entire experience felt like a concentrated version of everything wrong with too many Choice Hotels properties: dated facilities, poor service, nickel-and-dime thinking, and a complete lack of respect for the guest. The location is useful. That is about the only compliment I can give it.
Terribly run hotel, more importantly the rooms are disgusting, the AC was full of mold, there was dog or cat shit on the floor, the water smelled like it had been contaminated with the sewage system, and the smell in the room was just unbearable, we picked up all of our things and ran out as fast as we could, we let them keep out money as long as we remained in good health, that was the worst experience ever, there’s no sugar coating it. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. My next hotel was significantly more expensive but way more sanitary.
Only stay here if you enjoy uncomfortable beds and not sleeping on vacation. The neighbors were extra lively and loud, though each time they got rowdy it didn’t last long…Other than that the room was about what you expect for the price point.
Doing a great job of watering (the sidewalk?) after it just rained non stop all day and Utah is still in a major drought. 👎 Edited to add, just rode by two years after my initial review. Still doing a great job of watering the street and sidewalk while Utah is in a major drought! 2nd picture is the updated one
