I've been to several events at Oasis. All have been excellent performances by queer and bipoc artists. One of my favorites though is Dhoom, basically South Asian queer, drag and transgender performances (dance, fashion and singers) along with great Bollywood music for dancing. Oasis is part of what makes San Francisco such an exciting place to live.
It's amazing that this place is now an institution, a place where drag queen art is cherished. I know it as a simple gay bar with a swimming pool and cheap drinks. Well those days are gone. One comes here for drag shows and to support the community.
I used to come here to drink and play pinball, but that was a long time ago. And the pool and the sundeck were fun. But now it is the major venue for serious drag shows, and you can see some very talented performers here.
The show we had booked was fun and everything we had expected. The drinks were extortionate so we made one drink each last for the whole show.
I’ve seen Friends and Sex and the City Live here. Both shows were epic!! They will take pictures after the show. Staff is really friendly.
Went with friends while in town for work. The show kept us laughing for most of an hour. Brava to the queens that delivered their take on Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte- not to mention the "extras". They stayed true to storylines, but with enough vamping and local flavor to make it a truly entertaining night. Have to also mention the creative staging and costuming (shower scene esp). Be sure to catch the next run, you'll enjoy it!
I've been here many times to see drag shows. I used to think drag wasn't interesting or entertaining. But these people are TALENTED. I love the shows here.
Brilliant show! The only bad thing was the food (which is not catered by oasis) the pizza was tasteless and the salad had fungus growing on cucumbers!
Sex in the City was a laugh riot. This venue puts on great shows nightly. Check it out. LGBT Club, but all are welcome.
Great night good mix of comedians, highly recommend it. Not the poshest of venues but it was all about the content. If we could go to more shows we would, but unfortunately, time does not allow. Hopefully, they will get an act together and come to New Zealand
