Silicon Valley Pride
About This Event
Silicon Valley Pride is San Jose's pride, run by the nonprofit Silicon Valley Pride, and in 2025 it marked its 50th anniversary, which dates it to 1975. It is held at the end of August, two months after San Francisco's, and feels more local and less crowded.
The format is a pride week of smaller events, then a weekend downtown. Saturday evening is a Night Festival at Plaza de César Chávez. On Sunday the parade sets off around 10:30 a.m. from Julian and Market streets and runs down to the same park, where the Day Festival follows until 6 p.m. The parade is free to watch; the festival needs a ticket.
Light rail and Caltrain both reach downtown, and parking is tight on parade morning. Local outlet Local News Matters puts annual attendance at more than 15,000.
The 2026 edition took place August 29 and 30 under the theme "Flourish & Bloom", with pride week from August 24. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
