About this place Mac's Club
Mac's Club is San Jose's oldest gay bar, first appearing in city directories in 1963 and still going strong on Post Street in the downtown Qmunity District. It's an unpretentious, dimly lit neighborhood dive with strong, affordable drinks, a pool table and a small back patio, drawing a loyal mix of longtime regulars and a younger crowd spilling over from the dance floor next door at Splash. Karaoke and casual weeknights keep it low-key, and its survival alongside Splash makes it one of just two dedicated gay bars left in the South Bay. Cash is king here, and the welcome is famously warm.
