Hotel Capstone

We booked a room for the weekend and had to cancel because our flight was canceled. They made us pay extra to book for next weekend. I don’t think we will use this hotel when my son is in school here! You really shouldn’t treat future customers this way! Then they called and lied. Expedia contacted this property about the rebooking fee and they would not waive it. They tried to blame Expedia. Don’t book here.

It's clean. They could improve their shampoo and body wash. The staff is very attentive.

Thr first room was dirty I honestly was shocked that it was. The second room the water was dirty brown the faucet shot water out everywhere and messed up my daughter's clothing. The room was outdated and small. The temp in the room wouldn't cool down below 72° and there was hair in the bed and on the pillow. I was very disappointed and will not stay there again when traveling to Tuscaloosa.

When you turned the water on the water shot out across the bathroom floor and messed up my daughter's clothing. There was hair in the bed and on my pillow. The temperature in the room didn't go below 72°. I just expected more very let down will not be staying here again when traveling to Tuscaloosa

Always a great stay at the Capstone

Wow!! I was blessed to be bork in Tuscaloosa . I recently called to check availability and Lori I f to visit my son . I know the world has gotten all technical and advanced but I figured calling to check availability and pricing . I never got the fellas name due to his speed of conversation . I’ve never had a worser experience trying to get simple information. It’s a shame how that place has changed

As long as you understand that you are paying 100% for the location and don't expect anything beyond that, then you will be good. Went for my son's Admitted Tide Day and spent 5 days exploring campus and the surrounding area. The location is walking distance to most places you'd want to go on campus so that was worth the price of admission (over $320 a night avg for 5 nights). The bright spot about the hotel is the staff. They were all great. The rest of the hotel is not good. The beds are uncomfortable. The worst part is the bathroom. It's insanely small. The door itself misses the toilet my maybe an inch. The lighting is so bad. The shower door opens inwards in the middle (my guess is b/c how close the toilet is to the shower glass) and turning on the water creates a situation where you are going to get sprayed like a fire hose instantly. And because of how the shower door is situated, you end up with a massive puddle in the floor of the bathroom when you shower. The interior of the shower is so narrow and small you hit the sides constantly. As far as the hotel itself, the place smells and just feels like a rundown old motel. The interior is outdated and just feels unkept. They apparently have been purchased by Hilton and going to be refurbed. Hopefully they fix everything that is substandard for the price they are charging. Not sure how they fix the size of that bathroom, but just know you are paying for location and nothing more. For future stays, we will go back to our go-to place that is 5stars (The Alamite) and just know that we'll need a ride to campus.

Ten the bartender was fire 🔥 drinks on point, service ...top tier. Love staying here for our work conference.
