Good value, location, and amenities

I didn’t want to leave this review but I don’t have a choice at this point. These people don't care about your safety or belongings. My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton Topaz near DuPont Circle, Washington DC from October 25-27th. We were in town photographing a wedding. We arrived on Friday afternoon and quickly left to head out for a shoot. We returned in the evening around 7pm. We left our car on the street and Ubered to a restaurant to have dinner with friends. Upon returning to the hotel, approximately at 12:30 am I gave my keys to the valet driver to bring my vehicle in the garage. The following afternoon (Saturday) we departed our room to head to our next engagement. Around 2:30pm we requested our vehicle from valet. The valet driver brought us our car. That’s when we realized we had been robbed. Our car was ransacked. All of the contents from our glove box, center console, visor and glasses hold were either opened or down. All non-valuable stationary contents were thrown on the floor. My wife’s purse was stolen along with our emergency funds from the vehicle ($100). Unfortunately for us we could call for a police report because we were supposed to be at our wedding at 3 pm and dealing with the hotel already delayed us beyond that. It was our second stay at that Kimpton property and I will guarantee you that it’s our last. Apparently, on weekends, there are no managers on staff. The professionalism from the staff working that afternoon was shocking. No apologies, or extended concern. We at minimum wanted to hear “we’re going to get to the bottom of this”. If it weren’t for my wife raising hell we wouldn’t be able to speak to the manager over the phone (who was off for the weekend). Even after the managers came back to work on Monday we didn’t receive any calls of concern. It's now Thursday and we have heard nothing from management or staff. I've called and I get the runaround with constant promises that someone will return my call. It's hasn't happened. The one bright spot to this ordeal was speaking with Vick (who worked at nights) and another Young lady (I forgot her name, but she had a wrist bandage). Everyone else was seemed as though they didn’t care.

Beautiful and unique hotel with awesome staff meeting all expections to make your Saturday a comfortable one.

Dirty, mismanaged and just gross

This place is disgusting. I’ve became ill after being put in a room that had molded walls. I was sick for the two weeks I was there. I had to seek medical assistance because my allergies symptoms were very intense and I had incredibly painful migraines. Once I change hotels, my headaches went away and I was able to breathe better. The staff was extremely passive aggressive and unprofessional. They are very bias towards POC.
