Washington Marriott at Metro Center

The hotel hosted a conference, to include valet parking. The hotel forgot to add valet staff to cover this service. The signature drink offered by the hotel was a grainy, low quality margarita.

Room was very clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Always enjoy staying herev when in DC.

I came to DC with my family for a learning vacation. We chose this hotel because it is central and right next to the Metro. We got here on a Thursday and left on the following Tuesday. We are a family of four, two adults, a teenager and a pre-teen. Pros: the beds are really comfy, the water is piping hot, the shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion are all very nice (smell is a little off putting, but not too bad). Room service is quick with wonderful fries. Pool is nice, free apples in the gym, water refill station inside the Starbucks on the ground floor (both of which are very convenient). Front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. Cons: conditioner ran empty for two days and was not refilled without asking for it, lotion never got replaced after use. We had to switch rooms after the first night because the room was stuffy and had a moist smell (there aren’t any exhaust fans in the bathrooms), and the AC was making an awful clicking noise. The second room was much nicer, no stuffiness or moisture smell, however, the AC was still making the same clicking sound. The TV app options suck, can’t use Netflix unless you have an account without ads, YouTube is really your only option otherwise. First night, the controller stopped working, and my family requires some sort of white noise while we sleep, especially in a noisy city, so the tv not working was a bummer because I couldn’t turn on a fan or rain YouTube video. On our last night, the light in the bathroom wouldn’t turn off, it was on ALLLLL night, mind you, I couldn’t ask for someone to fix it because it would have woken my kids (and once they wake, they struggle to go back to sleep), and even with the door shut, it was disruptive to our sleep. The duvets seem to be a partial duvet, then don’t cover the whole down comforter, which is strange and uncomfy, and the pillows are flat flat flat, I had to sleep with three and I usually use one pillow. It seems as though there are a lot of cons, but it was a pleasant stay, ultimately, I’ve had better, and I’ve had worse. This place lands somewhere in the middle.

Nice place and close to all the site. Joseph was especially nuce and professional with an awesome joke every time we saw him.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times. I can’t speak highly enough about how clean and organized this place is. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily to ensure a great stay. The m club is fantastic and well stocked 24 hours a day. Birihan and her team do a great job to ensure that Marriott’s most frequent travelers have a great experience. Marriott Metro is a must stay if in Washington DC.

Stayed at the Marriott Metro Center for four nights while attending a conference nearby. I originally booked a main brand Marriott expecting a higher experience over nearby business-centric options. It wasn't. The only real differentiator between this Marriott and a Courtyard or Hilton Garden Inn is the higher price and a $30 a night destination charge. The shower had a low-flow fixture on it was was borderline unusable. The toilet flush valve was broken. The bed was not comfortable. You are given a $15/day food and beverage credit as part of your destination charge, but it is only usable at the mediocre and overpriced on-site restaurant. Upon checking out I was informed that purchases at the connected Starbucks and market (for bottle of water) were not eligible for the advertised credit, even though they were charged to the room. There were a lot of better hotels in the area for the price. If attending an event at the convention center I would recommend staying at the Marriott next door to it, which was much nicer. Note that as of 04/2026 the building directly adjacent to the south is being demolished, and then redeveloped. Expect some noise and disruption.
