A little loud and hard to hear others at your table, but obviously one of the top restaurants. Perfect food, wonderful service, great wine and fun takes on cocktails. The perfect place for a celebration.
If one like french bistro cuisine, Le Diplomate is a the place to dine. Their burgers and steak pepper with fries are highlights. The macaroni au gratin was yummy too highly recommend it. It's catered to American style Mac and cheese and its good. My next trip I'm gonna try their onion soup which I heard was good. This is DC, so the prices are quite high, and the prices written on the menu are before tax, so be prepared for final bill to the higher. The staff are friendly and the ambience is nice inside. The terrace is good, but the DC mosquitos are monsters so watchout. Highly recommend reserving a table for sure. Also, for European and Asian customers, this is USA, so sadly, we gotta pay the servers salaries. Luckily, our server was a med student from Ethiopia and was kind and hospitable so it was good dining experience.
I went to Le Diplomate while visiting family in Washington, DC, and we had such a wonderful dinner here! The restaurant has a beautiful, upscale atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special without being overly stuffy. The French food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and felt worth the splurge. We had a great experience.
Overrated! Average food and overpriced. I found the atmosphere extremely noisy, and the food was just ok. The Beef Bourguignon was dry and lacked flavor, nothing special. I’ve had much better meals at other places in DC for half the price. Pas recommandé!
