My friend booked this hotel based on a conference she was attending so I just went along with the plan. What a pleasure this hotel is. It’s bright and cheerful and modern. There’s a great breakfast every morning, there’s a pool, an outdoor BBQ, a gym and lots of self parking. The room was fully stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal, do business and get a great night’s sleep. Also, an added bonus is the location; close to Cambridge and Harvard Square plus Arsenal Yards, a great open air mall with Restaurants, shopping, beauty and Ben & Jerry’s, is located right across the street. I can’t end this review without mentioning Sandra Lee, at the front desk, who was so warm and welcoming, and also a big help when I had to make changes to my reservation. This hotel is a total winner!
The worst front desk staff ever encountered at Marriott The staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful. We wanted to print the charges in a separate folio, but the staff complained we gave her extra work, she didn't have to do this, and it was our mistake. Initially when her way failed, she claimed she could not do anything and that she knows most about the system given 5 years of experience working at the hotel, so no one else could better help. However, we offered some advice and she had a quick try. It worked, but the staff member was even more unhappy about this, saying that it was extra work for her, and that it was our mistake to have separate payments.
No housekeeping during a four-day stay. I left a “Later” sign one night because I was working late; I understand mistakes happen. I was promised 1,000 points as compensation, but follow-ups over the next 8 months yielded no resolution. Disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.
