Motel 6 Newport, RI

If i could give less than a star i would. was Traveling with my wife and 3 year old.We checked in and the room reeked of cigarettes. There was a dirty washcloth in the bath, and no toilet paper. I went to turn on the TV and it looked like this. asked if there were more rooms available since it said online there was and the woman at the front desk was very rude and said there wasn’t. we said we would like to leave and be refunded, and she said only her manager could do that and wasn’t there till tomorrow. she then sent handyman down (who was actually super kind) to tell us she could refund us but we need to be out on 15 minutes. my wife had left to get food and i have a broken ankle (happened a few hours earlier) so my child and I limped to the front desk where she said if we want a refund we need to be moved out of the hotel in 15 minutes. i said my wife had left and i can’t move fast right now and she said “well you have 15 minutes.”. she refused to give us her name, and the other woman there would not either. As we were walking out they sent the man again to let us know they had a cancelation and there was another room if we wanted it. After we just repacked the car. The man was very helpful and kind throughout the whole thing. after we left we called Booking.com to ask for a refund, the woman called motel 6 and the lady told them she doesn’t have any idea what she was talking about and that none of those things happened.We called the hotel back and asked why they lied and they said they didn’t and still would not give their names. Booking.com was great and is going to refund us, but the whole thing was bad all around. The lady’s personality and customer service was a great representation of the room as a whole.

Arrived at the Motel 6 and the receptionist had earbuds in and talking to someone else, not a way start out good. Then walking down the hallway you can see debris on the carpet doesn't look like anyone has vacuumed in a few days. Then inside the room there is hair on the floor and someone's contact lenses and no toilet tissue paper had to go back to the receptionist for some. Don't expect much if you book here other than a quick night's sleep.

Helpful and friendly staff and management

Disgusting rooms and incredibly disrespectful service. I made a third-party reservation through Expedia. When I arrived to check in, the rooms were disgusting. In the first room, the floors were unswept, there was dried urine on the toilet seat, the beds were made but had head hair and pubic hair under the sheets, and there were wrappers under the bed frame. I made a complaint, and I was moved to a different room. However, the second room had all the same issues except for the dried urine. I explained this to the employee, and he was initially nice, respectful, and understanding. He told me there had been no cleaner for two days (I’m not sure if that’s normal). He said he would issue a refund, which would take 5–6 days. Two days later, I asked Expedia for an update on my refund. They said they tried to call the motel, but no one answered, so they sent an email instead. I left it at that. A few days later, I contacted Expedia again, and they told me there was no refund being processed. I then called Motel 6 to ask for an update. I was immediately met with disrespect and rudeness. I was told, “I don’t deal with refunds. You need to go through the third party.” I explained that Expedia had already tried contacting them and needed the motel to answer the phone to confirm the refund. She essentially said it wasn’t her problem. I called Expedia support again, and they confirmed they needed a response by phone to process the refund. So I went back into the Motel 6 and explained the situation again, stating that Expedia needed verbal confirmation from the number associated with my stay. She responded, “I don’t need to pick up any phone. You won’t tell me how to do my job,” and continued to be rude. During this entire interaction, she was on a call with someone staying at the motel. The man she was speaking with came out of his room and sat in the lobby while we were talking. They were speaking Spanish, and although they didn’t realize it, I understood everything they were saying. They were discussing my situation, being disrespectful, and speaking negatively about us in front of us as if I couldn’t understand them. Afterward, the man left. My husband then spotted him on the CCTV monitor facing us. He looked through the glass door and appeared to be holding what looked like two weapons. We were not completely sure, but we felt threatened and decided it was better to be safe than sorry. We left and called the police to report the situation. When the police arrived, they reviewed the footage. They were able to see the man in the lobby, but there was no footage of him in the hallway, which did not make sense. At the end of the day, I have video recordings of the treatment we received. I do not know the employee’s name, but this incident occurred on March 17th at approximately 14:20. I have still not received any information about my refund, and nothing has been resolved.

This is the grossest place I’ve ever stayed. Reeks like weed and cigs, some tweakers dog tried to attack me twice and barked all night long, tv looked like it had a bullet hole in it, sticky walls, holes in doors, literal feces in the toilet still. Heard some weird beeping from somewhere in the room, honestly would t be surprised if there’s hidden cameras. Half the rooms are abandoned or have people living in them full time. If you bring that up the front desk will shrug their shoulders. The next day our keys didn’t work, walked around looking for anyone who worked there for an hour and couldnt find a single employee. Had to call the corporate number who couldn’t reach anyone either. We were supposed to stay another day but obviously decided to leave, as we were driving away my husband tried the front desk one last time. The woman working was INSANELY rude. He wanted a refund for the day we weren’t staying and asked for a receipt, she said they didn’t do that. So he took a video, telling her he was going to incase they tried to scam us, and it’s insane how rude she was. She said she had been standing there all morning, my husband showed her the video he took of no one being there, (taken because we knew they’d lie) and she just stared at it without saying anything. She said the number he and corporate have are both wrong and didn’t give the correct one. No idea if we’ll get a refund. Glad to be out of that hell hole.

The front desk staff was polite and helpful, making check-in quick and stress-free. Parking was easy, and the property was well-maintained. For the price, you really can’t beat the value Motel 6 offers.

I had a wonderful experience during my stay at Motel 6. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the check-in process quick and easy. I also appreciated the convenient location and easy parking, which made my trip even smoother.

The best and most enjoyable moments I've spent with Abby, my friend and employee at Ofelia Design's. A place to let your imagination soar and lose yourself in the comfort each room offers. The silence is absolute, and the comfort lies in the privacy and design of the space. Unbeatable. You walk in and you never want to leave. As I said, unparalleled peace.

I booked a weekend in there and when I showed up, they gave away my room. They had no room available when you call. There’s a nasty girl at the front desk. Beware do not stay there. It is the worst hotel. They say they have rooms available online but no rooms and the staff is awful. There’s a girl in the morning. That is just the worst customer service.
