About this place Pioneertown Motel

Pioneertown Motel was built in 1946 to house actors and crews filming Westerns on the Pioneertown movie-set street, and has since been restored with simple, design-conscious rooms. It sits right next to Pappy & Harriet's, the roadhouse and live-music venue, about 15 minutes northwest of Yucca Valley. It's a mainstream motel listed as gay-friendly, not a gay hotel. The draws are the location and the dark desert skies, not hotel facilities. Show nights at Pappy's fill the motel and can be noisy. Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs are both within driving distance.

Excellent stay at the Pioneertown Motel. The rooms were very nice and comfortable, and the location could not have been better for catching the concert at P H. We first spotted the motel when we came for shows and decided to stay instead of our motorhome, and it was the right choice. Friendly atmosphere and great spot for live music. Highly recommended.

Not to be hyperbolic, but this is probably my favorite little hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The decor is simple and sophisticated, the people are nice, and I loved the fact that my room didn’t have a TV in it.
