The Tiny Pony Tavern

The Tiny Pony Tavern opened on Twentynine Palms Highway in 2024 and has quickly become the de-facto queer gathering spot in the high desert. It is not branded as a gay bar, but the staff is largely queer and trans, a Progress Pride flag hangs at the door, and the room has been described in the press as "the gayest bar in Yucca Valley." It's a relaxed bar-and-grill with a full drinks list, comfort food and a patio, open late every night. During Morongo Basin Pride the Tiny Pony hosts one of the season's headline parties, and year-round it functions as the friendliest place for LGBTQ+ travellers to land a drink between Joshua Tree hikes.
