ibis budget London Luton Airport

It’s basic. But it’s spotlessly clean, has a decent family restaurant and bar and is - in our experience, and we’re in our 70s - a 9 minute walk from the terminal. And, in mid August, it was £66 for a double room: remarkable value for money.

We stopped at this hotel before an early morning flight to Vienna and found it to be very good. It was actually St Patricks Day when we went and the hotel lobby was decorated for this with complimentary food and drink. Our room was small but well equipped and clean. It did the job. Would stay again.

My elderly mother was waiting in the carpark (not parked because she didn't leave the car) and ended up with a €100 parking fine. There were no clear signs to indicate parking regulations, costs and fines (i.e. nothing to indicate that waiting in the area is prohibited). What an unbelievable money-making racket!

I visited London with my 8 yr old and used this hotel as my base. It was ideal! Within 10 mins walking distance of the airport. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our meal at the hotel was really tasty and really exceeded my expectations! Again the staff were so lovely and made a lovely ice cream treat for my little girl. It was so good, I have booked it for 2 more upcoming trips with the rest of my family.

I stayed in ibis Budget next to Luton airport, as I had to catch an early flight at 5am next day. The hotel is located very conveniently at a walking distance from the airport terminal - 10-12 min walk or 3-5min with a shuttle bus. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, happy to spend time explaining and answering my questions despite the late hour of the evening. The room was very basic (as expected for ibis Budget), but top-notch clean, with shower gel and liquid soap and fresh clean towels available in the bathroom. Free Wi-fi was available around the hotel and in the room. My room rate was GBP42 per night, as I booked 3 weeks in advance - quite good value for money for this type/standard of the hotel. On the day, the same room rate was GBP55, which I would argue is a bit overpriced for what you get - so, I'd recommend booking in advance. Overall, I have 100% positive experience and would stay in this hotel again when I travel to / from Luton airport.

This is excellent palce to stay in before or after the flight. The hotel is very modern, comfortable. Clean room. I really recommend it. You do not regeret to book. Quality service. Fast check -in and out.

Great budget hotel perfect for an early flight. Rooms basic but had everything you needed including good tech fit out. Clean and tidy. Transfer bus pickup direct across road from hotel and took only a few mins. Great value for money and beats the early rise to make it to Luton.

The hotel was easy to find, maybe a 10 minute walk from the terminal building. I arrived very late at night, but the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was small but had everything I needed, coffee and tea was available in reception as well as takeway type meals which culd be eaten at the tables there. All in all it was exactly what I needed.

I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Good localisation - you can walk to the airport within 10-15 min , delicious food , cosy and clean rooms and extremely friendly staff willing to fulfil your requests

Perhaps I am naive to think that suburban purpose-built hotels provide parking as part of the room price, or would mention that they don't, but judging from the Trip Advisor comments I am not the first to feel ripped off by the Ibis at Luton Airport for tacking another £10 on their room price to park when there is no mention of this on their booking sites. The night manager's response and body language told me I am not the first guest to feel they've been done by a bait-and-switch. I've stayed in many Ibis hotels and usually such extra charges are clearly stated. This is a perfectly decent hotel and I have no complaint about the room or the service but Accor have destroyed their brand credibility with me by this chicanery. The manager Raman Julka and I are now engaged in correspondence about Accor hotels' deceptive advertising practices and the delivery of a promise in his boilerplate response that measures will be taken to "prevent future occurrence".
