What reviewers say

Visitors consistently praise the Hotel du Vin for its gorgeous rooms, delicious breakfast, and exceptional staff who go above and beyond. A common complaint is the preference for a kettle over the Nespresso machine, with one guest also noting non-functional floor heaters.

Absolutely loved this accommodation. Close to Wine farms, breakfast was included, we walked to dinner spots. Will definitely be back!

Pros -location. The hotel is in the heart of the town so you are surrounded by many great restaurants, cafes, grocery stores (Woolies and Checkers) as well as Clicks (local beauty and drug store). -Breakfast. They have several hot options that seemed to stay the same but the quality was great. -The service we received at breakfast from Robin was good. Cons -Everything else. We were placed in room 1 which is right next to the entrance and faces a very busy street. We were woken up around 5:30 every morning due to traffic which literally was a few feet from our room window. -LACK of heat. our room was FREEZING. There is no Air Conditioner and one panel heater in the room, which wasn’t enough to heat up the entire room. —We looked for gowns and slippers and there were none. —There also weren’t ANY RUGS on the main room floor. I asked reception about this and they said they would have to check with house keeping to see if there were extra ones. For a “4 star” hotel, this is unacceptable. We never received an answer about the rugs, so my husband asked for extra towels we could put on the cold tile floors. -On the Second day of our stay, we told reception again that the room is just too impossibly cold and we would prefer to either be moved to a different room (since our room had no AC to heat it up) or cancel the two remaining nights of our stay to find a more suitable option for us. We were informed that we couldn’t be moved since the hotel is fully booked for that night and that they cannot refund us if we do decide to cancel. We were essentially kept prisoner in a very cold, noisy cell. -We eventually asked the front desk if they at least have heating pads for the bed, since we were stuck there and only then did they say yes, the do have them. I don’t understand how this wasn’t an option before we enquired about it. —The shower leaked. After every shower, the water would run into the bedroom. The bathroom sink was slow to drain. It would take at least 30 seconds when brushing your teeth or washing your hands for all the water to drain. In ALL. THIS. TIME. not one person from management ever checked in with us or tried to amend the situation. The GM, Celeste, was never mentioned or reached out to us. I have travelled to many cities and stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels. Even unrated ones. The service here was extremely disappointing. Overall, my husband and I both are deeply upset with the lack of response to the situation. It was meant as a romantic getaway for our anniversary and instead our time was spoiled by very basic lack

Highly recommend. The room was gorgeous. The places to chill were lovely. The breakfast was delicious. The location was great and most importantly, the staff went above and beyond. Thanks so much for the wonderful weekend
