From the moment we walked into Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa, we were treated like royalty. The service throughout our stay was absolutely impeccable! Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Breakfast was a delight, with a wonderful variety of fresh options, and dinner at the fine dining restaurant was simply unforgettable. Our highlight was the short rib meal, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. Every meal was complemented by attentive service that made us feel completely pampered. The hotel itself is stunning, with a beautiful pool and breathtaking views that make every moment relaxing. The spa experience was equally fantastic, the massage left us feeling rejuvenated and completely at ease. A special touch that we loved was the free shuttle service to town and back - just a quick message and they were ready to take us wherever we wanted to go. It made exploring the area effortless and stress free. Overall, Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa exceeded every expectation. Whether you’re looking for luxury, relaxation, or incredible food, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to return!
2 stars for service because my spa manicure experience was extremely disappointing. The finish on my manicure was definitely not what I expected from a 4-star hotel and spa; I would have done a better nail shaping and varnish job had I done it myself. Spa management should ensure that trainees have had enough practice before they attend to clients, or else offer clients a discount to be a guinea pig. In this way all parties' expectations are managed. For the rest of the experience and helpful, friendly staff, I would give 4 stars.
Hotel looks stunning and staff were friendly and helpful. There it stoped being anything like a 4 star with current ratings. We had constant problems having no water in the room for showers for 3 days. Tv was ancient and unwatchable even though streaming was available in the bar downstairs. Phone didn’t work and no lift. We had a meal in the “ fine dining restaurant “ which was so poor it’s laughable. We were asked for feedback by manager in the restaurant and said it was disappointing. Mussels were served cold and then reheated. Duck was burned to a cinder and we were offered a coffee. We declined. The only saving grace was the wine was good. Would not recommend.
Booked a very special high tea for my daughter’s birthday only to arrive at the hotel and be informed that the high tea had been cancelled by the hotel. No one could be bothered to contact me and let me know. One and a half hours drive there and back with no plan B in place for her birthday. Very disappointing. What is more frustrating is that it has taken me over one month to be refunded for the high tea and I am still battling to get my money refunded. Endless communication to follow up. Go somewhere else if you are planning a high tea for a special event.
Evacuated from Chamonix Wine Farm on 11 January 2026 due to nearby fires, leaving approximately 30 minutes before the house was later destroyed. Arrived at Le Franschhoek Hotel around 05:00am seeking safety and left again around 09:00am the same morning. Unit condition was disappointing: unmade beds from previous guests, rubbish left behind, no hot water, limited electricity, and no towels provided initially. Full accommodation was charged. Since 12 January 2026 I have been trying to obtain a proper invoice and the promised refund needed for insurance purposes. Over a month later this remains unresolved. Sharing this experience so future guests can make informed decisions.
