Hilton Cairns

We had an amazing stay! After an exhausting 26-hour flight, the hotel graciously allowed us to check in early, which was greatly appreciated. To make our stay even more special, we were upgraded upon arrival. When we returned to our room later, we were surprised with a bottle of champagne and a birthday cake for my birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture and truly made the celebration memorable. A special thank you to Edna at the front desk, who was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Simone at Gin Social was also wonderful and provided outstanding service. The location was perfect—within walking distance of markets, restaurants, the pier, and so many attractions. Everything about our experience exceeded expectations. We felt well taken care of from beginning to end and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for making my birthday so special!

Rooms a little dated but more than comfortable.

I was very happy with everything Except : tooth paste and tooth brush was not provided Breakfast was amazing unfortunately without avocado in all 4 days that I stayed there But view was so good Yna and all staff were so nice and gave us the best room, we’ll be back again 😍

Fantastic location for exploring Cairns and the surrounding area. We stayed three nights here while doing the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, and other excursions and the hotel worked perfectly as a central base. The waterfront atmosphere was beautiful, especially in the evenings, and the location made it easy to walk to restaurants, tour pickups, and the Esplanade area. The room was comfortable, staff was welcoming, and the overall experience helped make Cairns one of the highlights of our Australia trip. Their breakfast buffet also rotated daily which was a nice change and allowed you to enjoy different foods each day.

I stayed for several nights during Golden Week in 2026. The Hilton Cairns boasts an absolutely fantastic location. Situated in a safe area, it offers easy access to places to stroll along the Esplanade and find dining options. The fact that it provides a safe and comfortable stay is undeniable. On the other hand, the building's age is undeniable, and the resort's main attraction, the pool, is smaller than expected. Those expecting state-of-the-art facilities and a spacious pool might be slightly disappointed. The service level was also not particularly high. While the breakfast buffet is said to be delicious, I personally recommend the nearby cafes that open early in the morning, as they offer excellent, varied, and enjoyable breakfast options. (This further diminishes my reasons to choose the Hilton…) (This isn't just about the Hilton, but) I strongly advise anyone planning a trip to Cairns to "book an extra night's stay the day before if you're arriving on an early morning flight from Japan." I saw many Japanese tourists arriving early in the morning and spending time in the lobby before check-in or tour pick-up, and they looked quite exhausted. Our family booked an extra night, which allowed us to check into our room immediately upon arrival. This gave us a chance to take a nap, get in shape, and get off to a great start. I highly recommend booking an extra night as a "necessary expense" to conserve energy on the first day and fully enjoy sightseeing afterward.
