Great accommodation

Feels like a prison, but probably less hygienic. And I'm not exaggerating. Staying with some friends in a dorm for 4. The room is tiny, and has clearly had another bed crammed in for the money. The room also did not feel clean, bottom bed sheets were stained. The toilet bowl was stained. Walls had dents that were plastered over but not painted. We're only here for 2 nights and that feels too long.

My stay at YHA was absolutely good. The hostel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The kitchen and toilets were cleaned regularly, which made the stay very pleasant and hygienic. It is also cheap and affordable, which is perfect for travellers and students. I really recommend this hostel to my friends and fellow travellers who are looking for a budget-friendly and comfortable place to stay. Overall, I had a great experience and would happily stay here again.

Booked a night here and called ahead to confirm the after-hours check-in process. I was told my keycard would be left in a lock box and the code would be emailed through — no problem. After 36 hours of travelling, I arrived just after midnight in belting monsoonal rain, entered the code… and the lock box was empty. I then had to call the night manager around 10 times before over 30 ish minutes anyone finally answered, soaking wet, luggage soaked. That was frustrating enough, but what really topped it off was the next morning when I politely asked if I could grab a single tea bag from the breakfast buffet area and was told no. One tea bag. Seriously. Overall, the staff were unhelpful, morale seemed very low, and the whole place felt like nobody wanted to be there. Couldn’t wait to check out.

Had a great stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with very short walking distance to both the city center and the esplanade area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including several Indian restaurants, which made dining very convenient. A special mention for “Bombay Kitchen” — definitely one of the best Indian restaurants nearby and a must-try for anyone staying in the area. The hotel kitchen was also fully equipped, which was very useful for cooking meals whenever needed. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with a fantastic location and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend it.
