About this place Kambah Pool Nude Bathing Area

Kambah Pool is a reserve on the Murrumbidgee River in Canberra's south-west, about 25 km from Civic, and part of it has been a legal nude bathing area since the Nudity Act of 1976, the first in the ACT. It's a river swimming spot rather than a beach; the coast is about two hours' drive away. RiotACT threads and visitor accounts describe the nude section as popular with gay and bisexual men, alongside other naturists. Nudity is lawful only inside the signposted area, and sex or exposure in public is an offence anywhere in the ACT, including here. Keep it discreet and respect other visitors. The river can run fast after rain, and ACT Parks posts current conditions.
