Great stay in Paradise open court yard with a pool chill vibes and good times.

Booked a private room. The room smelled heavily of chemicals or paint, and the only fan in the property that worked was broken and made a loud noise every few seconds, so it was a choice between be slightly cooler, or be quiet enough to sleep. The roller blinds didn’t work properly and the curtains had been ripped off the wall. Since the room looked directly onto the street, this compromised privacy. The smoke detector in the bedroom has been ripped off the ceiling. There are two ceiling fans in the property, however both control units have been removed - they are just for show. The bed is on wheels so it moves. The sofa is filthy and sagging. The floor in the bathroom is sandy and grimy - do not walk barefoot. The luggage storage that I was directed to when I arrived is just an open shelf behind the reception. It’s roofed, but it’s outside. I had arrived early, and despite having requested early check in, and the room not being booked the night previously, I was told to stand and wait. I left my bag on the luggage shelf and when I picked it back up, the front pocket was unzipped. To get to the private room you’ve got to go past the bike storage area, which is a jumble of bikes, some broken and falling apart, all on the pathway. If you have a case you need to carry it over the bikes (hope it’s not heavy, mine was). Brought all of this up and was stonewalled, so I left the property. Refund has been rejected so I’ll issue a chargeback. $1000 down the drain otherwise.

I booked one night at this hostel and contacted them in advance to ask if a late check-in around 10:30 p.m. would be possible. They confirmed that it would be fine and told me they would send proper check-in details. However, despite calling them a few days ago, I never received any follow-up or instructions. On top of that, my credit card was already charged a few days ago, yet Booking.com keeps showing messages saying they couldn’t charge my card. I’ve received these notifications multiple times, which is very confusing and frustrating. When I contacted the hostel again, I asked both for the missing late check-in details and clarification about the payment issue. Their response was simply to ignore the Booking.com messages and that everything is fine. This situation feels very unprofessional. I had to chase them multiple times just to get basic information they promised to send, and I’m still receiving conflicting payment messages. Communication has been poor, and overall the experience has been frustrating and disappointing.

Warning! Someone broke into my room while I was out and stole our card details. They made purchases totaling over 500 AUD. Disgusting, lots of long-term guests with loud music, and the queen mattress was ancient

Dear owner/s it maybe worth cutting your profits to improve the facilities. The beds are of poor quality. It is like lying in a bath. One plug socket in a room is poor. Ventilation in your bathrooms is just a window. Bedding is not suitable for a sub tropical climate. And the pillows are poor. Staff although friendly do not enforce sound limits. Brutal for a flight in the morning. The venue has amazing potential but you’re extracting as much out of it as possible without thinking longterm

Extremely dirty hostel. All rooms overlook the garden, where there's a lot of noise all day until late at night. Sleeping is practically impossible. The housekeeping is terrible everywhere, including the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen. You have to show your ID to get pots and pans. Plus, all the pots and pans are ruined, old, and unusable. The kitchen is equally dirty, closed, and has no ventilation. The only convenient thing about it is the Surfers Paradise. Otherwise, it's terrible in every way.

Perfectly servicable, but there are better deals close by for similar prices. The rooms here have no air conditioning, there is 1 fan for the entire room, the smoking area is right outside the dorms so you can smell it whenever anyone lights a cigarette, and there is no secure locker for your backpack. Its also a fair distance away from the tram station and the nearest Woolworths
